“Day by day, scientists in boats tally up dead birds, sea turtles and other animals...”

And what are we paying them to do that? My father would have asked “if they find a dead horse, will they look up their arse to see why it died?”

Where are the GD vacuum ships from all over the GD world that cleaned up off the Saudi coast? Still haven’t worked out a deal with our unions?

Reeading about this breaks my heart to know my favorite vacation spot is being damaged by this catastrophe. Was just there in April relishing every minute of being there. Now it's becoming a toxic waste dump.

"Sea creatures flee oil spill, gather near shore"

Rampant looting and robbery occurs....Buses could have been used...Obama issues $2000 credit cards to fleeing creatures...oh wait, that was Katrina.

The Leftist environmentalists are frantically trying to spin the evidence to "prove" that this is

an environmental catastrophe unparalleled in U.S. history

despite the fact that creatures are frolicking in abundance near the shore.

I'm not saying things are not bad, but we are seeing the usual tendency of the Leftists to hype things in preparation for another of their govt. expansions.

Get this piece of disaster-hype:

The fish could also fall victim to predators such as sharks and seabirds.

Well, predators have been eating things lower on the food chain for millions of years. If the predators were being wiped out along with their prey, we might have reason to worry, but in the natural realm, conversion of one form of life into another is not "an environmental disaster without parallel." Predators normally do not exterminate their prey populations; that would not be in their own interest.

Birds covered in oil are crawling deep into marshes, never to be seen again.

Why can't Obama take a cue from this? But seriously, this is heartbreaking. What a nightmare this is.

If this mess doesn’t bring you to tears, what will? It is truly devastating. And we’re putting up with it....

Mullets, crabs, rays and small fish congregate by the thousands off an Alabama pier.

Mullets on the beach? Yuck!

reminds me of the Mobile Bay jubilee

Jubilee is the name used locally for a natural phenomenon that occurs sporadically on the shores of Mobile Bay, a large body of water on Alabama's Gulf Coast. During a jubilee many species of crab and shrimp, as well as flounder, eels, and other demersal fish will leave deeper waters and swarm—in large numbers and very high density—in a specific, shallower coastal area of the bay.[1] A jubilee is a celebrated event in Mobile Bay, and it attracts large crowds, many drawn by the promise of abundant and easy-to-catch seafood.[2]

Although similar events have been reported in other bodies of water, Mobile Bay is the only place where the regular appearance of this phenomenon has been documented.[3]
