Mother Tracks Down Kidnapped Kids Using Facebook

While the rest of you were busy asking friends to join your gang in MafiaWars or doing whatever it is you're supposed to do in Farmville, a mother in California was busy using Facebook for a good reason -- to track down her two children who had been kidnapped 15 years earlier.

According to the Deputy District Attorney in San Berardnio, CA, the father of the two children -- one boy and one girl -- had gone missing with the children in 1995 when the kids were just 2 and 3 years old.

"The mother got on to Facebook and typed in one of the children’s names and hit a Facebook page," said the prosecutor.

Lo and behold, the girl she'd found was indeed her daughter. The two began communicating via Facebook, with the mom even sending an old photo of the family from before the kidnapping. And then suddenly, says the Deputy D.A., it all came to an end: "The teenager said, 'Not interested in a relationship. We just have a happy life. Leave us alone,'" and her daughter's Facebook page disappeared from the site.

Even so, the mom was able to convince the local authorities to investigate. Ultimately, they tracked down the missing children and their father to Orlando, where daddy dearest was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping, and two counts of violating child custody orders.

You are assuming. I havent judged either of them, I just suggested something that you dont wish to see.

But that is normal all men are considered guilty by the courts.

Thanks for the reply. I got an urge to eat “chicken and noodles” after reading it as that was my favorite dish my mom made for me as a little little kid. Sometimes when it was a bit tight she made “tuna and nooodles” instead. i can’t presume guilt on the father like you can. I’ve known too many evil women.

when the courts abuse dads as they currently do...there’s nothing evil about dads whisking kids away from mothers...in certain situations...currently as laws stand today.

You do not take the law into your own hands. Just because the courts tend to favor women does not mean a dad has a right to whisk kids away from mothers. And, frankly, this is why people need to take more care in who they choose as mates.

You, sir, are a misogynist, and so no true intelligent debate can be had with you on topics concerning women.

Lets expose this one...

YES I have said that polygamy is sexual abuse of women...

No I do not agree that polygamy is a commandment of the Christian God of the Bible...

I do not believe that Abraham, Issacc, Jacob etc were commanded by God to have multiple wives...

I do not believe God was a polygamist with physical children...

I do not believe that Jesus was a polygamist with physical children...

I do not believe that God ever commanded any man to be a polygamist in order to be a god..

And YES I say the same things over in the Religion Forum...

If you read my responses, I do NOT presume guilt on this father or any other.

I simply state that any adult (except in the most dire cases), who deprives their children from the nurturing parent (could be the father or even grandmother but the only parent that spends the bulk of a young child's life) steals from the child not from the other partner.

My statements are not a reflection on fathers as I've personally known a number who were denied parenthood by their ex-spouse, but on the selfish interests to punish a spouse at the expense of the child!

That this cannot be denied, one only need to ask the grown up children, and I've also known a number of them, who grow to resent and even in some cases despise, the parent that denies them the love and relationship of the other parent.

So it was the exhusband? The article doesn’t say she got the kids but I presume so. I wonder if the father made the daughter say she had no interest in a relationship

It sounds to me like the father discovered the facebook account and correspondence and made the final comment before HE terminated the account..........

My father did this very same thing for my sister and me at about the same ages or a little older.

My mother had us living with cousins and a drug addict boyfriend in the backwoods of Florida in a filthy house and on welfare. I recall finding maggots on the floor, a 1 eyed dog, going to the dump to pick out toys, going to some welfare center for Christmas to pick out a toy. Various things like that.

My father saw this, tricked her by saying he was taking us to the store to get new clothes, then fled the state. The cops stopped us on the interstate. My father went before a judge and told his story. The judge told him to get out of the state before my mother could get there.

Things turned out far better for us with him.

Those on here calling fathers deadbeats without getting the facts are just ignorant of what can actually happen.

I think what you meant to say is that men need to take more care in who they choose as mates. Women are fully cared for if they screw up.

Seems like dad handled it the only way he could given what he was probably facing. The kids probably grew up much better off without her. I suspect he’s not regretting what he did, unless the legal system makes him say that which what they will want him to say.

You don’t know the facts, yet, either. Yet, you’re judging that the father was wrong.

Do you even read what you write?

The child does not want to be with the mother every time. What an idiotic thing to say.

I was asked by the judge who I wanted to be with. I said my father.

Ultrera called Segala a few days after he vanished to tell her that he and their children were in Mexico and that she would never see her son and daughter again.

Classy.

Source.
