Can I get a ticket - it sounds like a fun evening. Of course the “Wear your best attire,” sort of scares me I only have my demobilisation suit that doesn’t fit me anymore.

Sorry all of you that got left behind! While we are all listening to the waves slapping the shore, and the soft background music, the birds tweeting in the palm trees overhead, and drinks of our choice being served - you will be eating leftovers and doing dishes......Oh, I need a Kleenex!!! (lol)

Its a darn good thing you found my post! Sounds like fun, fun!!! I just found my black and white sundress!!

(But WHAT, may I ask is a “demobilisation” suit?

After the end of WWII in England and for some time after that, due to clothes rationing coupons --- service men being demobilized were given a suit to start them off in civilian life.

I tried on several outfits - and settled on the tan linen capris with matching shirt. There is a small, lacy palm tree on the side of the pants, and another by the pocket on the shirt.

I decided not to wear shoes - I love the hot ocean sand on my feet!
