Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace! We who remain hold you in high honor. Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct; We who remain keep this place sacred. Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades; We who remain keep the watch. Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nations call; We who remain press the fight forward in your name. Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden; We who remain have taken up the torch. Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Conor, thank you for posting these Heroes
pictures every day! It hurts very much but
they gave it all and we are very grateful, although very sad.
May Each One Rest in Peace Forever
as we all will remember forever.
We humbly ask God to bless those who grieve!

By the way, Conor, I had started a post listing all their names and I had brought over 5 to my preview page and when I started on that second page, I lost the five I had done! They are floating around in cyber space with all those other mistakes I’ve made! LOL!

DITTO to your post to Conor! This IS sooooooooooo SAD! This is probably not right, but I found one of the soldiers to have been VERY good looking. Didn’t know him, of course, but felt I would have liked to know him. Sorry if I’m out of line.
To: jaycee
That is just sooooooooooo sweet, Jaycee!!! And TRULY appreciated!! Thank you so much!!!!
P.S. And it’s also very pretty!!!!

Torey went to the Rainbow Bridge on February 11th 2010, Hence the Valentine Theme.
She was sweet to humans, but woe unto any other dog or cat, who would try to get the affections of LTOS! LOL!
Being a Border Collie, she knew how to defeat an electric fence by interrupting the circuit, and could sing on pitch with me.
I also taught her to play poker for peanuts by candlelight when we had no electricity after Katrina and Wilma.
If she had opposing thumbs, she could have been president.
Heck, even without opposing thumbs, she would have been a better president than you-know-who.

Thank you tiapam! I always loved that post. I used it a long time ago! I figure there is always some (maybe a lot) who haven’t seen it.

Yes, it does hurt but as Conor says those and many who have gone before keeps us free. I'm sure it hurts men as well as women, but its just hard to take. Some have such happy faces, some serious faces. You could just tell which ones would be big cut-ups!
I heard an interview yesterday with General McKrystol (sp.) and they are getting ready for 10,000 more troops soon. He stated very boldly that its possible we could lose 100 a month for several months when we start that next big fight. That truly breaks my heart. What must these wives, mothers, fathers, etc. think when they hear that, knowing their loved one will be in that 10,000 who are leaving.

I am sure it was hard when she left you but we’ve all been there, done that, and it doesn’t get easier with the second and third. That is the main reason I don’t have a pet now. Its too hard to lose them. Even when my son’s cat recently died, it hurt me a lot. I had baby-sat his cat when he had to travel in his job. He brought her here with all the stuff that goes with the cat and I got very close to her. She was a sweetie. And I was so afraid she might die while I was keeping her because we knew she was sick and would die soon.
But I’m sorry you lost your Torey! (I can’t even watch that Rainbow Bridge thing as I end up in tears.) I’ve just turned out to be a cry baby I guess! I told one of my friends that I cry at Hallmark card commercials sometime!

The people on FR were WONDERFUL to me when it happened!
But I do understand your sensitivity. I am that way too.
Being of an spiritual nature, I think makes people feel things more, in order to be able to create beauty to comfort others.
Think of it as a blessing, and as a responsibility.

Being of an spiritual nature, I think makes people feel things more, in order to be able to create beauty to comfort others. I totally agree with that statement. And yet I think I have a tough side too, as there's so much to take care of after you are left alone. But when you have to do something, you just do it! Although you can get mighty lonely sometime! Thank the Lord for my 2 sons and their families and besides my FReeper FRiends, I have some wonderful friends here also.
Are you getting another dog?
