Our society produces lots of really bored people who need stimulation.

Someone should tell Lewis that it’s a dumb thing to do but we don’t care.

Our society produces lots of really bored people who need stimulation. That's because life today is easy. There was a time when simply making it to 40 was an act of physical endurance and not starving to death during the winter was an "extreme sport" in itself.

Just stumbled on the headline myself. Don't care either.
Odd thing don't care about the girl who just sailed around the world.
Along with global warming stories. Things like this destroyed National Geographic. “First Lesbian unassisted sled dog assault on the South Pole”
However the NatGeo Channel shows some promise.

The sounds like a pretty cool thing to do and I’m sure the story for his family will be around for ages. Good for him.

I didn’t realize that there was a tunnel under Mt. Everest.

what’s the matter with people today? a 13 yo just called his mother from Mt. Everest and now this- what are people trying to prove? their own lunacy?

Why??? In the words of British mountaineer George Mallory as to why he wanted to climb Mt. Everest--"because it's there."

Don’t worry, it won;t be easy for long. When the US gets attacked thanks to Obama, and we’re tossed back into the 19th century, life’s going to get a lot harder. Even most prepared folks probably are going to have a slim chance to make it.
