“...weird, but not totally uncommon apparently!”
Yes, that has happen many times before.

We now have the name of two roads in your area. And, they both have the word "Ford" in them. Coincidentally, the car that was driven up the wire is NOT a Ford.
Things that make you go Hmmmmmnnnnn...

OMG! I actually saw an accident like this, too!! It was on my commute to work and it was sort of icy. If I hadn’t seen it myself, I wouldn’t have even believed it was possible.

My dad did that once, except the guys were closer to the side and he flipped the car on its hood. I asked him how/why he did it, and he said he didn’t remember because he asleep when it happened. ;-)
That pole must have been holding a few circuits. Good thing it stayed up!

That sure as heck isn’t the intersection at Shallowford and Buford that I usually drive through (just NE of PDK airport).

I once saw a drunk woman weave off the road ahead of me, at less than 30 mph, run the wheel up the steel guy wire at the beginning of a guard rail, and flip over in slow motion.
Silliest thing I’ve ever seen. Everyone behind her(there were quite a few since she was going 20mph below the speed limit), ran up to help her. She crawled out without a scratch and cried like a baby. When the cops showed up they were not amused or sympathetic.
Guy wires can hold lots of weight.

Hmmm, let's see -- maybe a:
Leftist Hybrid electric car owner, trying to get in position to get a free recharge?
Or maybe a:
Feminist driver angered when she found out that it was a "Guy" wire that was arrogantly controlling the ability of the pole to move about freely?

It is Shallowford Terrace, not Road . . . but it doesn't look like that intersection (just off the end of Runway 9 at PDK).
The area in the pics is way too leafy and the Buford is a lot more commercial and built up there (and much wider).
This must be further north.

Had a gal stole a pickup. She was inside it and had locked the doors. The owner popped the hood (old 60s Chevy) and when she drove off the hood popped up. She was driving looking out the window and hit a pole's wires. truck went up and flipped over with her head underneath the roof. Wasn't pretty. This happens on occasion, although it's not a common accident.
Oddest thing to me is when a car runs off the road and hits a house, it seems to have a magnetic attraction to the gas meter.
