The F-35 Like You Have Never Seen It Before
Giz modo ^ | 5/17/10 | Jesus Diaz

These are the first photos of two F-35 Lighting II jet fighters flying in formation, just cleared for distribution by the Pentagon. They are so crispy and detailed you can even see the demon helmets inside the cockpit.

Super weapons in search of an enemy “the one” won’t name.

These weapons are very nearly useless against the enemy we're presently "at war" with. That war requires intelligence to locate the enemy. Once he's located, he quickly become most sincerely dead with our existing weapons.

Unfortunately we're not very good at the whole intelligence thing.

>>At Universal? Ironic aside - that project was built by the company I worked for a while ago.<<

LOL — small world (I know, that is Disney), indeed :)

>>What do the lighting bolts on the real vert wings indicate?<<

The F-35 is the Lightning. Lead weights just don’t look cool.

The F35 is one small step for the U.S.
The F22 is one giant leap for mankind.

That's true if we limit the enemy to active terrorists instead of including their sponsors. They're inclusion would present a target-rich environment. Of course that could start a real war. But it might be one we're better equipped to fight than the one in which we're now engaged.

You are, of course, correct.

I would suggest that looking around for a war you’re equipped to fight rather than the one you need to fight may be getting priorities wrong.

Like looking for your car keys under the street light rather than in the ditch because you can see under the light.

One must remember that these planes are going to be in service for decades.
We will also be selling many to foreign allies like UK and Australia, and other countries that will require eventual replacements for the f-18s and f-16s as well.
I’d rather have them buying F-35s, than the 4 generation crap from the euros. Our enemies can go for it with that garbage or the inferior stealthy knockoffs from Russia.

"Totally bad ass! Too bad the marxist in chief bristles at the sight of them."

Uh, I bristle at the sight of them, and can't wait for the program to be canceled. $122 million apiece for a fighter with less speed, maneuverability, and payload than a first-generation F-16 is a ripoff, not a reason to celebrate.

I was just wondering how many F-35’s it would take to down an F-22.

Good question - probably take about $1.3 billion worth of F35 to down $300 mill woth of F22. I dunno, maybe the GAO has a number...

I didn’t see in the video where they are OSHA compliant, handicapped accessible and whether they are equipped for hearing and vision impaired pilots. Also, what kind of accommodations do they have for autistic and mentally challenged pilots? Are all labels and nomenclature verified and approved by GLAAD, ACLU and NOW?

Unless these areas are addressed, I don’t think that these machines should be allowed to fly or be used in any service. Plus the fact that it is obvious that they contain dangerous weapons and could kill large numbers of people, especially other innocent fighter pilots. Therefore, all funding for them should be stopped immediately and all current orders canceled. There’s no telling how many poor children and innocents would be killed by these nasty weapons of destruction.

Fully agree. The F-22 was where it should be. I watched them do their flight/instrument testing outta Long Beach...them was some bad muthas. Pilots loved them - "instinct flying" as one termed it.
Jump up...fire it up...and they gone!

Yeah, I understand. For quite a while now, I’ve been saying that there can be no political satire any more because, no matter how ridiculous and far out it is, everyone will take it as real, not satire. The libs/leftists have gotten to the point where nobody can believe the extremes they will go to, so the most extreme, ridiculously written satire will only sound like a perfectly normal description of their antics.

Sad, huh?

Like looking for your car keys under the street light rather than in the ditch because you can see under the light.

Good analogy. But short of eliminating radical Islam (is that a redundancy?) that spawns terrorists faster than we can kill them,we're stuck with fighting the present war.
