Thank you for sharing all this! It seems like you military folks become family within a family. To me, it’s wonderful! I know what you mean about tears, as they have been flowing on and off for me today, as well! On T.V. they showed kid’s of fallen soldiers getting together at this time, every year! One young lady told how she attempted sucide after her Father was killed. Fortunately, she was unsuccessful and is much, much better now!
This is certainly a difficult weekend! And then there were 2 drownings today at a popular lake near Phoenix. Alot of water and alot of drinking on a very warm day. Doesn’t make sense, does it?

This weekend is special, especially for old vets remembering lost friends, and families remembering fallen loved ones.
This is for you!

Honor Is Due
Do you remember how He wept in the garden, filled with strife
Even as His Disciples slept away the waning hours of His life
Did He cry for all who would become lost along the narrow way
And those who in some final moment courageous their very lives pay
If He could, why cant we, do something as simple as feel that need
Are we so stunted in our souls we honor not anothers very last deed
Save me from such a shallow world, rather I would remember them
For they are the very best of a Nations children, hence honor stems
I pause to remember, for I too walked the ways of war and strife
I lost good friends to that madness, saw the end of a cherished life
Pause to reflex on the debt one owes to all who fell as in Grace
And know the fallen have stood before His loving gentle face.

Today we left flowers on family graves, veteran and not. Along the way, we left our usual six sets of extra flowers, on six separate unknown (to Us) graves of veterans to say thanks to those who served. We pick them at random, but say thanks to all.

Rest my brothers, your rest is earned, and your gift not forgotten.

Okay.....so I missed today. Couldn't be helped. Sunday School and Worship this morning. Then a memorial service for a man who passed away last September. His family which was scattered all over the U.S. decided this was the day they could all get together and bury his ashes. Home and lunch at 3:00 p.m. Caught my breath, then off at six to hubby's church for a Gospel sing. He had a really good group there. I enjoyed them very much.
BTW, I peeked in the door early this morning while I was having my morning coffee and I found that after I said goodnight last night, there was some "boozing" going on here at Amy's place. Does she know about this? It's a good thing I left early or you guys would be in big trouble. Tsk Tsk Tsk.
