Wishing you a Blessed Memorial Day, MEG.
For the past two years, our church has honored Veterans on Veteran's Day Sunday. A choir was formed and we sang two songs in each of the three weekend worship services.
The following is a video of the Vet's Choir two years ago singing Mansions of the Lord.

Oh tiampam, what a moving picture! All the guys and gals in my husbands WI Air Nat’l Guard Unit are such wonderful people. Big big hearts. Now that hubby’s been retired for 2 years, I miss the closer connection to the base and the people.
A few of the guys and gals that he enlisted with around 1982 are still there at the base. One man even had a tour in the war zone recently and has returned safely with everyone in that group also safe at home.
Such an emotional weekend as we remember all who have served our country.
Heard many calls on talk radio Friday, as people called in to remember friends and family who had served. Had me crying while driving, not a good combination. Had to pull it together and drive.
The hostess (Vicki McKenna, of Madison and Milwaukee radio) told a story of a picture shown to her at an event in the past, a picture of a young soldier about to go to the war zone. Then the person who had that picture told her the soldier never came home and that was the last picture taken of him. Well that made Vicki choke up on air and I am sure thousands of her listeners like me did the same.
All the best and brightest, serving us, so we can enjoy American freedoms.
America,America
God shed his Grace on thee
And crown Thy good
With brotherhood
From sea to shining sea
Prayer: Lord, please bless all our servicemen and women who fight for us today, and hold those who have perished in Your comforting arms. Protect our country from evil and see us through these trying years to a time of Christian revival where the righteous prevail and evil falls. Amen

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!
Amazing Grace
by John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, . And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

Such a good reminder that God made the Sabbath Rest for us all....Maybe if America would stop once again and set aside Sunday to replenish our souls, revival would come!

Jaycee!!! That hummingbird and flower is beautiful!
The Scripture is also a good reminder not to get wrapped up in earthly things!
