LTOS, that Mandolin is his reward for spending his childhood “on the road” playing fiddle in daddy’s band. His dad had a 1934 Gibson F-5 that he bought in GA back in the 60s. He told son that the Gibson would be his as payment for his years in the band. He recently sold it for $50,000 because he wanted one of Jonathan’s Trinity. Jon sent him pictures by e-mail as he made the instrument. It was really interesting to see the steps that he took and the care with which he crafted it. It is a beauty and it plays and sounds heavenly.

Yes yorkie, I know that I have been blessed. God has been more gracious to me than I have ever deserved. Here we are back in the day, when he was still smoking and didn't mind showing his Marine Corp tattos. He cringes now when he sees himself smoking and showing his arms. He hasn't worn a short sleeve shirt in years, not even on the hottest day. Of course, I didn't care what he did, I was so madly in love with him, I was downright giddy. Still am.

Hey hey hey Dave! Where have you been so long? Why were you in the hospital? Did you have permission to be sick? Get well immediately! I insist.

Yep, I love looking at the old pictures. Right now I’m on my way out the door headed for the campground where the Christian Youth Rally is being held. I have visualized, and organized this with five Christian rock bands performing tonight. It may or may not rain. Pray for NO rain, thank you Lord. Many volunteers have worked hard on this and it has taxed my organizing skills. May the Lord use this event to reach many of our youth in this tri-state area. Have a good day all.

I Shall Not Want
The world is Mine, and all its fullness. —Psalm 50:12

Before they were a week old, the eaglets were fighting over food. Neither was strong enough to hold up his head for more than a few seconds, so the pair looked like fuzzballs with bobble-heads attached. But whenever the parents brought food to the nest, the bigger eaglet was quick to peck down his brother to keep him from getting a single bite. His aggression would have been understandable if food was scarce, or if the parents couldn’t be trusted to supply what he needed. But nothing could be further from the truth. The eaglets were being fed fish many times their size; there was more than enough for both of them.

The greedy eaglet reminds me of our own foolishness when we try to get for ourselves something that belongs to someone else (James 4:1-5). Conflicts erupt because we want something that God has given to a friend, colleague, relative, or neighbor. Instead of asking God for what we need, we try to get what He’s given to someone else (v.2). But God has something good for each of us. We don’t need what belongs to anyone else. And we certainly never need to harm anyone to get what we need.

Our loving heavenly Father has more than enough for everyone.

The secret of contentment is
To let the Lord supply;
Just do your part and put God first
And on His Word rely. —D. De Haan

Our needs will never exhaust God’s supply.

Good Mornin’ y’all.

Thanks to all for your prayers.

The procedure took 4 hours. Doc had to cut out one of the clamps @ L-5/S-1 that were inserted about 20 years ago so he could access the nerve opening to scrape away some bone. This procedure included a fusion of L-4/L-5. Was told he had to do a CT before the cutting away of clamp and bone.

Now, y’all are gonna have a hard time believing the following since you know I’m such a nice guy.

Once I got to the recovery room, I tried to take of my hospital gown and get out of bed. That was a big NO NO. They ended up strapping me into bed. ;)

Can’t do any lifting of anything over 5 pounds and have to get up and walk around every half hour. The limp in my R leg is gone and the nerve damage may take a month to repair itself. No driving for at least a month and my walks will increase daily til I reach the 1 mile level. Still awful sore but I have a cupboard full of drugs.

Again, Thank You for your prayers and well wishes. I won’t be spending much time on the ‘puter for a while.
