Depends on the era of country music. In Hank Williams' day, there is no girlfriend. In Hank Williams Jr.'s there is a wife, and a girlfriend, and they both come back but at conveniently different times. In the Postmodern Country Era, the wife and girlfriend have a fight in the bar, make up, buy a six-pack of Miller Light, and meet you at the motel for a Ménage.
