The sudden appearance of reported UFO sightings is date co-incident with our dropping the first atomic bombs on Japan.
Ever since that time, there have been sightings reported around the world. Prior to that time, these reports were exceedingly rare. So rare, in fact, that they went almost unnoticed in the press.
I can think with your logic, though. Once an advanced race discovered that our space travel technology is in its infancy, you'd think that they would greatly reduce their surveillance.
But --- what if our space travel technology is more advanced than our government is letting on? Think the aliens might keep a closer watch on us?
Perhaps that's the reason we continue to see reports in the press about UFO sightings.
“but-— what if our space travel technology is more advanced than our government is letting on? Think the aliens might keep a closer watch on us?”
That’s an intriguing possibility. If our space program is more advanced that what we believe, then yes I would think some space faring race out there would be more likely to keep tabs on us. If only to make sure we’re not out to rape and pillage the galaxy.
How long did it take for the light from those atomic explosions to reach these presupposed aliens? The maximum distance would be about 65 light years, wouldn't it? Yet you say that UFO sightings are date co-incident with our dropping the first atomic bombs on Japan. So your theory means that the "advanced civilization" must either have already been here, or relatively close by. But why would these supposed aliens have already been here, before the atomic bombs were dropped? What, they were listening to AM radio broadcasts? If they were already present when the bombs were dropped then those explosions have nothing to do with them supposedly being here.
Cordially,
