THE aliens are out there and Earth had better watch out, at least according to Stephen Hawking. He has suggested that extraterrestrials are almost certain to exist — but that instead of seeking them out, humanity should be doing all it that can to avoid any contact.
Hawking’s logic on aliens is, for him, unusually simple. The universe, he points out, has 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of millions of stars. In such a big place, Earth is unlikely to be the only planet where life has evolved.
He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.”
He concludes that trying to make contact with alien races is “a little too risky”. He said: “If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”
Hawking has suggested the possibility of alien life before but his views have been clarified by a series of scientific breakthroughs, such as the discovery, since 1995, of more than 450 planets orbiting distant stars, showing that planets are a common phenomenon.
Hawking’s belief in aliens places him in good scientific company. In his recent Wonders of the Solar System BBC series, Professor Brian Cox backed the idea, too, suggesting Mars, Europa and Titan, a moon of Saturn, as likely places to look.

If LIFE was a common thing that could be true.. But there is zero evidence of that.. LIFE could be extremely rare or non-existent except here on this planet.. Many of the TRUTH seekers(scientists) seem to conveniently overlook that, ok I'll say it, FACT...
After all science fiction MUST be logical.. or whats the point..

It seems logical that there could be life in many places in this vast Universe..

Some say . . . because their DNA has reached a dead end due extensive cloning etc.

IIRC, there’s more than one report about a supposedly massive program to train US military personnel in such communciations for the not too distant future when the government KNOWS there will be absolutely no electricity based communications.
Military personnel are sought out with particular DNA markers that purportedly allow them to be skilled subjects in such training.
They are evidently given ultra high security clearances . . . possibly or probably implants . . . and taken to extremely secret underground bases or large ships and set in front of computer screens where they are then taught by ET’s to communicate ‘telepathically’ . . . or is it by a spiritual dimension?
As a Navy radioman, it was interesting to read of the project . . . a lot of the military communications involved were rather familiar in type and structure.
No point in talking to aliens. No Hablan Inglés.

Some ET’s have purportedly shown humans vast rooms on large ships where meat is grown exactly like that. No suffering animals.
Evidently, we are getting close to doing that.
So how does that relate to space aliens? Are you implying that no aliens would be on welfare and that they are all hard working and willing to pick their own “lettuce”? I think that assumes a lot about the political leanings of a space alien.

Absolutely agree. Any race capable of interstellar travel would have little need for our resources.
However, I think it entirely possible that a species could develop an ideology or religion requiring them to exterminate all other intelligent life or even all other forms of life.
Think Nazism carried to the nth degree.
