There is no debtors prison in America except for Family Court...
Michigan is still a great state, and they'll be cleaning out the trash (Granholm, Stabenow, Levin) over the next couple of years. Let's hope California will do the same. (Born/Raised in Michigan, Living now in CA)
I don’t know why he would single out Michigan, most states have very similar laws reguarding child support.
Gee, Michigan is not all bad. So people will boycott Michigan, lets see the headquarters of Ford, Chrysler, GM. So people will boycott Michigan based businesses too. I live in Michigan, I pay my taxes and pay my bills. Oddly enough i do not agree with the politics of Lansing, MI. There is whole lot more to the State Of Michigan than Ann Arbor, Detroit and Lansing. Kellogs is based out of Battle Creek (breakfast foods) Meijer is based out of Grand Rapids, (department/groceries like Walmart). Hey the Yoopers are based out of Ishpeming. come now what will a boycott achieve. You want to boycott something =- boycott the federal government out of DC.
At least two likely GOP pickups in the US house from Michigan this year as well as the governor’s mansion. Sounds like former Governor John Engler may run against Debbie Stabenow in 2012.

His personal experience would be very much the same in pretty much every other state. Federal mandates play a big part in our child support laws and bureaucracy is pretty much the same no matter where you go.
Maybe they can deal drugs, so they can afford the child support.
