I lost my job and I am about to become homeless. My landlord is trying to help but I only have til Friday to find a job. I am 52 and I am alone. FReepers are some of the best prayer warriors I know. Please pray for me.

I agree with the suggestion of the temp agency. Pretty much the only way to get a job within the span of a few days and perhaps even get a paycheck.

I just got home from job hunting and begging various agencies for help. I went to a large church and filled out forms. I’m waiting for another one to call me back. I will go to the temp agency tomorrow. Thank you all again for you help and prayers. I don’t know what the future holds but I know who holds the future.
Brucey was her beloved dog who passed away around a year ago. She was devastated.

BruceysMom, I’ve been “underemployed” for over a year now. 53 and living with my parents again, EEEK! I found some bookkeeping & tax contract work that allows me to make enough to pay the bills. Lately, I’ve got a “John Galt” frame of mind, if you get my drift.
I use a groomer for my dachshund and in times past friends have mentioned using mobile groomers. Perhaps you could work towards that if you couldn’t do that now? It’s an attractive idea to some including me. You could post an ad for free at Craigslist. Also check out http://www.upillar.com/ Glenn Beck has talked about this site. Looks pretty good.

I just want to update all of you precious people, one especially (you know who you are) Yesterday I received a call from a former customer. He had called many grooming shops looking for me. This great guy had a dog die in a shop and he only trusts me. I told him I would do what I could and then get in touch with him. I talked to my two friends that own a grooming shop they said the liability was too big an issue and I couldn’t groom him there. Then they told me about a do it yourself dog wash and I went there. The owner said I needed a clientele and it turns out that the guy who had called me the night before had called her looking for me. She called a friend who gave her my number. That was around 11:00 this morning. It’s now around 4:12 pm and I already have a commitment from 14 dog owners to patronize the shop!!!! The owner and I will do well and I won’t be homeless! BLESS YOU ALL DEAR PEOPLE!!!!!
