Leo Mulvihill looks the classic man's man.
The hat is one clue. Displaying an old-school flair for style, the 25-year-old law student at Drexel University walks around campus sporting a vintage Brooks Brothers three-piecer and authentic 1960s Florsheims, his trilby cocked just so. --snip-- Say goodbye to the sensitive guy who cries at the drop of a pink tee, or the slacker living with his mother, playing video games. This new man has ambition and aplomb, brawn and brains.
Think Cary Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, or Ernest Hemingway.

Oh I remember well. Although being a kid, I didn't have any appreciation. But my dad was the same way; the closet was full of white shirts, which I was paid to iron. He and my uncle had opened a machine shop specializing in precision machining of aircraft parts. He called on McDonnell, Lockheed, Martin Marietta, General Dynamics etc. Here's another piece of trivia: he flew all over the place in the 60's and always packed his .45 in his suitcase. That time will never be duplicated. Now that I have some years under my belt, I look at that period of time and realize now, that the country was in semi meltdown and I wonder what his thinking was during all that upheavel in the late 60's, early 70's.
LOL!
It is way past time for us men to be men again!
Sounds like what the shoe repair guy told me about my early '70s Bostonian wing tips. I still have three pair from back then - two black, one cordovan. Quality shoes are fast becoming a scarce commodity.
Florsheims.....I still wear mine (oxblood wing tips only with one pair of black cap-toes for weddings).
They do! My husband looks sooooo sexy in his. And when he puts on his leather riding chaps? Wa-Hoo! :)
Just IMO.... If someone needs to buy specific clothes to feel manly..... he probably isn't.
If someone needs to tell you how manly he is..... he probably isn't.
Real men can change the oil, mow the lawn, change a tire AND a diaper. Along with anything else that needs to be taken care of along the way. If they need to brag about it, they're probably not real men.
All this having been said, I welcome a return to "retrosexuals" (or whatever)... particularly fashion-wise. Beats the hell out of "early dorm slob" that I've been working with for the past few years.
i always thought grant was the original metro. always just a bit too perfectly dressed and groomed.

Don’t forget the black socks with sandals come summer. All the stylin’ old guys in Wisconsin wear those, LOL!
I used to get them at Worth and Worth on 43rd and madison but they're long gone now. There's a shop on 57th over near 7th up on the fourth floor of a building but they charge $350 minimum for a decent hat.
Mercy!
Capt. Renault: What in heaven’s name brought you to Casablanca?
Rick: My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters.
Capt. Renault: The waters? what waters? We’re in the desert.
Rick: I was misinformed.
As always, “progressive” is a moving target ... my guess is that TR would have no love lost for BO. And, even if TR had been more “progressive” than I am ... there was a time when even “progressive” men were men. There was a time when even Democrats were conservative.
We would be a better country if our “progressives” were like TR.
