This is very unnerving, landing with deck pitching 30 feet, at night, low on fuel. Incredible. You will never forget viewing this. I have seen a lot of aviation videos but the two videos below are undoubtedly the best. Turn on your sound. I guarantee this will definitely hold your attention.

Those guys are another breed.
My father-in-law was a deck chief and has some crazy stories. Lot of his buddies perished in missed landings.
Click on pic for past Navair pings.
Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.
I saw this stuff all the time, saw an F18 fly right into the back of the Amb Linc twice on the same night. All pilots lived. It happens so fast you don’t even know if they are alive till you find them in the water.
this is a common occurrence. but these accidents are secret as is how many mines remain floating in the Persian Gulf.
That was one of the most harrowing things I have ever seen.
I'm amazed any twin engine fighter could survive two crashes in a row, especially on the same night.
Me thinks Ensign Clapp didn’t stay brownbar very long....

Wow! Who would’ve every thought about this! Of course, we hear of pitching decks, but until you see something like this, you have no idea what these guys go through. At least my son has solid ground to land on!
Damn, rock and roll.
Woman didn’t get to fly :-(
Now you know why the Navy guys call themselves “Aviators” and the AF guys “Pilots”. I figure they’ve earned the right to be a little cocky about that.
Serious Pucker factor here!!
Those two clips were 20 minutes well spent...whew.
My pappy had wings of Gold....used to say..”them AF guys, IFR means I FOLLOW RAILROADS, and they all need at least a twenty mile final to find a centerline...” yeh, he was a bit cocky, but he could drive an F8U.. rip old man..

I was watching the action and not really listening. Did the last aviator get demoted from flying following that?
