This morning I woke up with a Merle Haggard song in my head.
Are the good times really over for good lyrics.
***I wish a buck was still silver.
It was back when the country was strong.
Back before Elvis; before the Vietnam war came along.
Before The Beatles and Yesterday,
When a man could still work, and still would.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?
Are we rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell?
With no kind of chance for the Flag or the Liberty bell.
Wish a Ford and a Chevy,
Could still last ten years, like they should.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?
I wish coke was still cola,
And a joint was a bad place to be.
And it was back before NixonObama lied to us all on TV.
Before microwave ovens,
When a girl could still cook and still would.
Stop rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell.
Stand up for the Flag and let`s all ring the Liberty bell.
Let`s make a Ford and a Chevy,
Still last ten years, like they should.
The best of the free life is still yet to come,
The good times ain`t over for good.***
Later in my room - no passport !!!! I'm in the “trusted traveler” program where, on arrival in the US, I can simply put my hand and this passport in a machine and skip the long custom lines - so I would have been really upset to lose it.
Logged a little late, but not too late to read your magnificent post.
Thank you for the bads, goods and information in your long and careful analysis.
You are the best!
I’m glad you found it.
I would love to get on that list. As it is, I have a not quite two hours to get through customs and on to my next flight. I hope nobody is a fool when I’m there.
The power is out here and judging by the time it went out, it will be turned back on either at noon or a five. I’m learning patience.
I can see the battle lines being drawn in this country. Try as I might, I am so angry with people that I know voted for and support Obummer, I can hardly maintain the appearance of civility with them. I don’t care to visit with them, don’t want to socialize with them, don’t even care to be around them.
God help me, I’m mad.
Checking in, I have been posting multiple articles to Facebook as has turned into my norm. I’m not sure it helps keep my head from exploding or contributes to my anger. Probably both.
Hopefully, somebody that needs to read one of them, will do so at some point. And when the brownshirts haul me away in the middle of the night you guys can tell people “she took a stand against communism!”
Segment on FoxNews says that the Democratcare bill will require restaurants to list calorie counts on their menus. Makes me want to order dessert first. grrrrr!!!
Maybe I need to start spending more time back on this thread.... and in bible reading and more prayer.
Good night all.
Well, pb, I, for one, appreciate the articles you post on FB.
I like electricity.
Good evening. Glad it’s Friday. Supposed to get another snowstorm tomorrow. I will be happy to stay in where it’s warm and dry.
I've already fed the dogs and may be going to be real soon. No supper. No energy for supper.
Good morning. I'm glad you're staying in dry and warm and not on treacherous icy roads.
Good morning.
Today is Toby’s Birthday...
**********HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!**********
Thank you.
Happy Birthday, Dear Toby!
Happy Birthday!
Thanks for breakfast, lysie. I’d like some of each, please.
Good morning.
Cold here this morning....20 degrees.
