Anything like Festivus?

No. It's quite old. And celebrated by all Persians. I have seen Haft Seens bearing Korans, and others with Bibles.

Nowrooz is the ancient Persian festival celebrating their new year and the coming of spring. It is based on Iran’s ancient heritage and religion which was Zoroastrian before the invasion of Arab moslems. It is a beautiful festival with many symbolic references to renewal, new day, peace, hope, “change” and the coming of spring and love and harmony. Many of symbols of Easter are similar to the Persian Nowrooz (nowrooz literally means new day!).

Okay, okay, there are lots of spellings (given that the original is in Farsi). NoRooz, NowRooz, Nauruz, etc. Read on and learn more about their new year festival. Persians tend not to do things in half-measures, and in terms of new year celebrations they make the West look like pikers.

Trying for sarcasm, poor results. Maybe I shouldn't have, but right now I got a son two blocks off the Iranian border dodging bullets from Muzzies. Two weeks ago one of his best friends took one in the heads. Shouldn't blame folks here in the states, but I'm way past playing PC.

Sorry to hear this news. Was that "heads" or "head"? Either way, one prays it wasn't fatal (though I am guessing the latter probably was).

But Nowruz goes WAY beyond (and before) Islam, and quite a number of wonderful (IMHO) folks here in America celebrate it. Christians and Bahai among them. (I don't know any Zoroastrians though I also know some mostly agnostic Iranians.)

The Zoroastrian religion, like Judaism, was one of man's earliest civilizing religions. The three kings who traveled to see the Christ child were Zoroastrians who thought that the birth of the son of God would finally tilt the balance between good and evil toward good.

From what I have studied about the founding of Islam, it would appear that the tilt toward good which Jesus Christ brought into the world once again put the good force of light and an equal evil force of darkness into a delicate balance and constant struggle between the two once again which will not be rectified in favor of good until Christ comes again. I believe that Zoroast, Bhudda and possibly others were prophets sent to prepare the way Christ for civilizations not then ready to accept him, but who will accept him when he comes again. Just my opinion based on my study of world religions.
