How is everyone else answering? Don't like that they ask my race/ethnicity for congressional districting. They tend to assume that because I am Hispanic, that I am a Democrat. Can I choose to only answer how many people are living here and send it in that way?
For race I wrote down American.
I’ve thought about the American response as the other poster suggested. When my son got his drivers license they said race was self identified. Meaning it was whatever my son considered himself.
So what would screw up their plans the most?
I got mine too. Filled it out. I put we are american indian from the Choctaw Nation, as we are. The only thing I did not fill out was my phone #. They don’t need that. My mother does geneology and she says these questions are normal.
I wish I could have answered, all the above so our state would get more money.
That’s what it’s all about.
I look for Texas to get shafted.
Declaration To Make To Census Takers
"I hereby affirm that the provisions of Title 13 ``requiring'' me to disclose my race, personal financial data, birthdate, or any other personal, private information to the Bureau of the Census, an agency of the United States government; constitutes an unreasonable, unwarranted search of my person, house, papers, and/or effects; and a governmental invasion of the sanctity of my home and the privacies of life. As such, these provisions violate the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution, and are thus wholly void and I am not bound to obey them.
I have completed the only those sections of the Census form pertaining to the Constitutionally-mandated actual enumeration, as follows:
The actual number of people living at the address printed on the form, excluding untaxed Native Americans;
Age of each person in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
Sex of each person, in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
I have thus fulfilled my obligation to the attainment of the actual enumeration of the populace of the United States.
Any fine or other sanction that is levied by any office or organization stemming from the unconstitutional provisions of Title 13 in connection with my response to this or any other Census-related questioning will be challenged in a court of law."
I think the only thing required to answer is how many live there and that’s it.
I am putting “Native American”. It is true in more than one way - I was born here, but hubby and I also have American Indian ancestors ;-)
Would I classify for minority status if I referenced Irish or Polish ancestry on the form?
If you’re white, you should mark it white. Otherwise you’ll be counted as a democrat minority.
Yep, I know and White is color!
3 Americans living at our house, as far as our race goes.
Native American
Mongolian. I have Genghis Khan blood.
We answered the first 3 questions and mailed it. *ENUMERATED*
Supposedly, if the census people are not happy with your response, they will send someone to your house up to 7 times. If that doesn’t work, they bug your neighbors or use Public Data.
Apparently, a lot of people are NOT complying.
I can’t wait to see the first ACORN looking person walk up our driveway.
As was stated below, when it comes to race, write in American. Would you not write in German, Italian, French, Mexican, etc, etc, etc? American is a race also.
Normal for whom?
Got a letter informing me it will soon be arriving. This went into the trash and the actual form will go into the trash when it arrives. Let them come to my door. I will not answer the door.
We got two at our house for some reason. And the bold print of “Your response is required by law” on the front caught my eye. I really doubt they want my true “response.”
