MY DIL was a nominee for the Grammys a few years ago. It was a very exciting evening, for her and my son!!
Gotta go to work now. Millions on relief depend on my tax money. LOL.
Oops! NOT the Grammy’s - but the Golden Globe. My mistake. I need to proof read once in awhile. LOL
Oh, Polly, some of the best times of my life happened in that store.
One day, a customer noticed I had some very old Bibles, and Antique Christian literature - and quietly asked for prayer for a tough time - but not so quiet that no one else could hear............and within five minutes, about 25 of us came together and joined hands in a big circle, and prayed together.....total strangers here on earth, but Brothers and Sisters....
And the door never opened during that time, and the phone did not ring - so many miracles....
This just made my day!!!! I can visualize that moment in time.
Right now we are clearing out our attic.I hoarded for years, items that I was going to refinish, restore, and or sell on Ebay, but life has been turbulant in other areas over the past 15 years so those items just didn’t get repaired.
Now to make decisions as hubby hands them down to me.
My house is full of antiques. I don’t really like modern anything!
In fact I sold my antique stove, to buy a updated new one...worst mistake I made! I wish I had of put money into restoring the old antique stove.
Yes, several eggs were left far too long. She did lay a egg after that we hope will be good. Time will tell!
Oh, I know what you mean about keeping the old antique stove. My Grandma had an iron wood burning stove - and got water from a pump at the sink.
Every morning, she would load up the stove with wood, and by the time it warmed up the kitchen, she would have a loaf of bread rising, on the ‘cooler’ side of the stove. She would then fix bacon, sausage and gravy and ham slices - and eggs, fresh raspberries or blackberries, with cream and sugar, and toast made with home-made bread, or big fat cinnamon rolls.
At 11:30, she would put a big pot of water on and Grandpa would go out to the garden to get corn, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, onions, and whatever else she wanted to complete the noon feast. Grandpa would husk the corn, and go to put it in the pot - and every single day, she would have to say, “Not yet, Bill. That water t’ain’t boilin’ yet!” (I swear).
And, to this day, no tomato or corn on the cob ever tastes as good as Grandma’s.
Yeah I did yorkie! Its not a Photofiltre! But some of the Photofiltre frames are great. I used to used them all the time before I learned to do tables. And thank you so much.
Polly, you made a comment similiar to this several weeks ago, and it inspired me to search for a graphic to fit those words. When I found the right graphic, I couldn't remember your exact phrase, but it was something about "...walking down this path to Amy's...", and we both had your words in mind when we did last Thursday's opening post, even though we linked the music, "Deep Purple", to the graphic:
What a SWEET photo, along with a great song! Thanks!
How beautiful is that Eagle Mom!
Thank you, I am also enjoying the lovely scripture graphics you’re posting. :)
OH that is a lovely graphic!! I will go back to last Thursday’s opening!!!!
Yes in reality it is like a Pathway of Comfort, stopping at each post that has mingled with them some humor, affection, prayers, etc.... I so miss it when I am not here.
At times I fail to respond to comments sent to me and feel terribly bad... so I must walk more carefully, observing more as I go....
It is a solace of peace here!!
Polly
WOW! Scary the element in your oven caught fire. :( Good thing you were home!
We will have plumbers in and out of the house all today and tomorrow, and I've 'locked myself in my office' so I don't have to look at the mess they're making in my kitchen. :(
Amy found that graphic of the woman with the dogs and chickens, and I keep looking at it every time I start to do a new opening - finally it dawned on me that song would work! I like it sung by almost anyone, but really like her voice and her rendition. Louie Armstrong would be my next favorite, and then Rod Stewart. :)
Thank you, polly. Loves back to you. :)
Thanks, yorkie - I think we all love that song. :)
Thank you, Meg, for your compliment on today's opening. :)
Ooh, love the daffodils in that simple white pitcher!
