To all my FRiends here at Amy’s Place...
I just received a phone call from mrsdd. Her Daddy just passed away late this afternoon at the age of 90.
George was, is, and always will be my favorite father-in-law. I’ve only had one and that’s all I’ll ever need or want.
George was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a Submariner serving as a FireControl Technician Third Class aboard the USS TINOSA (SS-283)
I served my plumber apprenticeship under George. A great teacher and trainer.
Forty-four plus years ago, George gave me a gift that I will never be able to repay, but have and will cherish for the rest of my life - his daughter’s had in marraige.
We rejoice in the knowledge that George accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. We look forward to our joyous reunion with Him in Heaven.
To you, George, I offer up a Salute to you for your service to this great country and thanks of gratitude.
-your favorite son-in-law, dave

And, start writing us some of your great words!
Prayers for your rapid return to good health!
A salute to you, George, SIR!
Thank you for your service to our country,
And may you rest in peace,
In the Arms of our Lord.

ooooops! had = hand (but y’all knew that).
Thank you for the condolences. I’ll share your comments with mrsdd.
In 1977, 15-year-old Kevin Baugh and a teenage friend decided to create their own country, just for fun. The Republic of Molossia began as they drew a map, created paper money, and made a flag. Today, Mr. Baugh continues his micro-nation the same way it beganjust for fun. When Chicago Tribune reporter Colleen Mastony toured his 1.3 acre kingdom in the Nevada desert, Baugh assured her he still pays US taxes, which he calls foreign aid.
Its always tongue-in-cheek, Baugh admits. Im doing this for the pleasure and enjoyment of having my own country.
Not many of us will create our own nation, but we all have a kingdom of the heart where we decide who will rule. The apostle Peter wrote: Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts (1 Peter 3:15). Sanctify means to set apart Christ as Lord or Ruler of our life.
There is something within each of us that longs to be in control of our lives. It may be only a small corner where we assert our spiritual independence and answer to no one but ourselves.
But true freedom comes when we allow Christ to rule our hearts.

I have missed many posts since last week, but I saw your precious little Braelyn. Thank you for sharing her picture with us - hope you keep us updated on that little sweetheart as she grows and learns new things. :)
Hi, Amy! Hate to hear that you missed so much of the TeaParty Rally in Searchlight, but wonderful to hear there was such a huge crowd there! Hope you’re enjoying your little mini-vacation in Vegas. There’s lots to do there besides the slot machines!
Meg, Palm Sunday opening was so beautiful - though all of yours always are. So glad that you've been doing Sundays at Amy's; they add so much beauty and tranquility.
A belated Happy Birthday to you, yorkie, hope it was a good one!
tiapam, you are getting quite the accomplished YouTube poster! Not to mention all the neat graphics we're seeing, compliments of tiapam! (I think you had a great mentor in yorkie - she and jaycee have always found such wonderful graphics & poems to share with us.)
Kitty, always love seeing your beautiful "King's Ranch" photos - sunset and the wildflowers on the ranch are just gorgeous.
