Hey, “Spike” is very manly! I like “Zeke” too. I’ll put them on the list.

Tell me about your Torey. That is a really nice name.

Hey Jaycee, we are on the same wavelength, because I thought of Louie,Charlie,Spencer and Sam today! Cagney is a nice name but we never watched any Cagney movies. I did watch Cagney and Lacey back in the day though and loved it.

There’s “Duke” for John Wayne. That’s on my list. I loved John Wayne.

My list I am keeping while I work in the greenhouse is getting long. I am scribbling the names on a huge box that holds the pots I use for the plants. I will have the husband read the list and see if anything meets his approval.

So far, no luck and he didn’t like my try at “Hudson” or “Wilson” to honor the middle names of Rush or Reagan.
I thought he’d like one of those. I like Hudson.

We always have trouble naming our dogs. We got “Forrest” because the movie came out the year we got Forrest. And our Forrest loved to run just like Forrest Gump did. Hee Hee. We used to say “That boy’s a runnin’ fool.” when he’d wiz by us doing 40 mph.

Torey was a Rescue from a Shelter.

Her mama was a Jack Russell, and her daddy was a “handsome Stranger”, probably a Border Collie..

Ergo, as a pup, Torey was already a 45 pound Jack-Russell with the Cognitive Genius and Powerful Strength and Size of a Border Collie.

But the Insane Craziness of the Jack Russell.

She had been my Buddy for 14 years, through through thick and thin, through my move across the country, through Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Wilma, and the resulting months afterward, through career changes, there was always Torey The Dog, Till last month.

Torey was about 15, I think.

It’s hard to tell sometimes with a rescued dog.

Thank you, Polly! You know these modern parents talk to the baby all the time, right at Mommy’s belly. Some of us talked to her at Christmas at my house. I told her “that next year she will be crawling around trying to get the ornaments from the tree....”. I think they may have done the ‘music thing’, too! We never know, do we?

I just was able to check my FR stuff tonight. This time of year I am in my greenhouses all the time, and I mean all the time. Unless it’s dark outside that is. Tee Hee.

Thanks for the names, we always have trouble picking doggie names.

We had a German Shepherd that we named Nelson. He was BIG. Gentle as a lamb but everyone was afraid of him. Strangers would not get out of their car.

He was a great pet as well as a watch dog.

She is beautiful, Jaycee. Thank you for letting us enjoy her with you.

When next you hold her, give her a little kiss from Marissa and me.

LOL, “her daddy was a handsome stranger”!

Double LOL “cognitive genius”!

Aw, what a sweet story of your beloved Torey, I am glad I was nosey and asked.

I have a cousin who has had 2 Jack Russells and “insane craziness” describes their second one. The first was not as energetic after puppyhood was over, but the second one ate their couch one day and is still a nut to this day.

14 years is a long time. That is the same time we had with our first doberman Hans. They hardly ever get that old.

I hope you are doing OK after losing Torey. Bless your heart for rescuing her. What a long happy life she had with you.

Hey, remember that wrestling move called “the full Nelson”? I bet your Nelson was big enough to do that move. That’s how our dogs are, big but actually very sweet. We’ve found the doberman to be very affectionate. We also like german shepherds. They are great dogs. We had a shepherd and St.Bernard mix when I was a kid and she was an awesome doggie.

Torey was about 98 in Doggie years.

But I am 395 in Doggie Years, so I can’t complain.

I don’t think we ever get over it. I still remember furry friends from 25 years ago!
