AT NRO, Mark Levin hammers Beck too:
See full text of Levin's Comments here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2457009/posts ________________________________________________________ I want to commend Bill Bennett for his wise piece this morning on the Corner. http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YzM5OTJkYWE1ZTA5OTI1NWJiMjYwNDI4ZDg0NmQ3MGQ=
I agree with him. I have no idea what philosophy Glenn Beck is promoting. And neither does he. Its incoherent. One day its populist, the next its libertarian bordering on anarchy, next its conservative but not really, etc. And to what end? I believe he has announced that he is no longer going to endorse candidates because our problems are bigger than politics. Well, of course, our problems are not easily dissected into categories, but to reject politics is to reject the manner in which we try to organize ourselves.
This is as old as Plato and Aristotle. Why would conservatives choose to surrender the political battlefield to our adversaries who are trashing this society when we must retake it in order to preserve our society? Philosophy, politics, culture, family, etc., are all of one. Edmund Burke, among others, wrote about it extensively, and far better that I possibly can. But all elements of the civil society require our defense. Besides, why preach such a strategy when conservatism is on the rise and the GOP is acting more responsibly?
Moreover, when he does discuss politics, which, ironically, is often, how can he claim today that there is no difference between the two parties when, but for the Republicans in Congress, government-run health care, cap-and-trade, card check, and a long list of other disastrous policies would already be law? The GOP is becoming more conservative thanks to the grass-roots movement and a political uprising across the country, which has even reached into New Jersey and Massachusetts.
The libtards just love when high profile conservatives attack each other. Saves them a lot of trouble.
Bill Bennett is a RINO like Newt “Dede” Gingrich et al.
As for Beck, if he is advocating a third party for conservatives (and I don't listen to him enough to know whether he is or not), I think that would be a mistake at this point because the splintering effect would help the Marxists. However, someone needs to keep the Republicans honest, because they drift leftward any time the heat is not being put on them. And if Beck helps to keep them honest he is doing all of us a favor.
And, by the way, while I like Levin it appears he is extremely jealous of Beck so I try to keep that in mind when I hear of him criticizing Beck.
GLEN BECK IS SELLING AMERICA OUT BIG TIME. I DON’T LISTEN TO HIM ANYMORE.
If only Beck, would take a break from the “Look at me” tour and focus on advocating conservative principles we would be better off.
How many fricking, “9/12 movements”, “refounding project”, “9 Principles/ 11 truths”, “Christmas Sweater”, “Beck Riley Concerts” can we stomach.
I think Beck’s mistake was that by placing Obama and his socialists in the same pool with Republicans, he perhaps inadvertently mitigated Obama’s polices.
Bravo Mark.
Point very well made. Beck is unwittingly turning the conservative movement into a caricature.
I parted paths with bennet when I read his justification for the drug war about 15 years ago.
I have never touched anything stronger than weed and even that ended back in 1977, when it was $10 a lid and weak by todays standards. I am also for total legalization, like with alcohol.
I don’t get it. Mark is wonderful, but this looks peevish on his part. Is this some manner of ill-conceived turf war?
I loved Glenn’s book. How is he selling us out?
He mentioned how hard it is to write one single book.
Mentioned ‘some talk show host’ (Beck) who has ‘written’ six in about a year...
Mentioned that the same guy was charging $80 to $120 to go to a show and learn about the constitution.
It was GREAT!
I really don’t think so. Rather, Beck has been all over the place to the point that he now generally lumps all Republicans with Obama socialists. In one post, we have someone calling Bill Bennett a “socialist” and this is someone who has written extensively about the need to have universal school-choice and is adamantly pro-choice.
We have his book, "The Book of Virtues", prominently displayed in a bookshelf so folks can see it - upside down.
I liked his speech at Cpac, it was quite rousing, and think what it did more than anything, is scare the crap out of the establishment gop. hopefully they took notice. I’m a Libertarian, and I don’t even vote third party and I live in a democrat controlled state where it probably wouldn’t make a difference anyways.
Last thing I want is to see a bunch of kids on meth
Bennett stinks. Levin Good. Beck is out there.
Are you nuts! Are you in to collaborating with the Communists or what?
He is more a conservative libertarian. As most people are when they really think about it.
