I am a bit bothered by this repeated encounter with censorship on your site. This is the second time that I have encountered censorship on your site. The first time was when I was removed from being allowed to post for expressing that FOX News does not represent true conservatism, and it doesnt.
John Robinson sent me one kind email saying that the reason was that they typically get trolls and identify them for attacking FOX News. The second email that came from John immediately after was that he wished me the best of luck if I tried to expose the censorship on FreeRepublic against conservatives that apparently exists if you do not bow to the current politicians in power and owe your loyalty to the now less than conservative Republican party. That was rather rude, but I did not pay it much mind.
Today I was surfing and came across a site I do not agree with on all levels, but tried to make a post about some revealing facts that presented on their site about the perversity of Disney.
What was the result of my trying to make this post?
I got a message saying the source was not welcome on FreeRepublic.
As a conservative who would put any average Republican to shame with my traditional values and economic view that makes Reagan look like a two-bit haircut in a black and white movie, I would love to hear why this one is censored. And, as I told John, I can easily take these issues straight to conservatives who do not feel that Club GOP represents conservatism on the Internet with my web development skills.
I also just noticed that your site has made it impossible to highlight text in fields for posting in trying to copy and paste this link. On the one hand, I do believe in driving out stupidity from the Internet. On the other hand, I believe that only liberal leftist propaganda need be removed. I am beginning to wonder what makes FreeRepublic think that one conservative is acceptable rather than another. I think that conservatives like me would be interested to know the limitations you have obviously coded into publication on your site.
As I said, I do not agree with everything I read on the site I tried to link, but they did a very good job of exposing Disney on the link above.
Think about it.
IBTZ!
Dammit!!!,,,Ya’ beat me to it!!!...;0)
IBTZ 2...
Fox News is presenting watered down conservatism. So what? They present full blown liberals too. They are a news organization. They present a lot of things. You don't get to control that either. Get over it...JFK
Don’t like it?
Start your own website then.
“but feeling pushed... “
waiting for the big shove????
I have been here for over 10 years and have found most of what is not allowed is for a pretty good reason. Credibility is important, and the people who own the site are the best to judge what reduces their credibility.
I am a conservative, but on economic matters, I am a whole lot more progressive than most here. So much that I am routinely called a socialist libtard troll. Yet, I have not been censored. There have been some sites I could not post from, but some of those were just plain wierdo sites, and the others were big publishers who do not permit their sites to be posted on here.
I would suggest you relax and hang out and not get your undies in a wad until you have been here for a while.
parsy, who isn’t a libtard troll
Is this really worth posting....?
You’re doing it wrong.
“I got a message saying the source was not welcome on FreeRepublic.”
Exactly. And it wouldn’t make any difference who tried to post an article from it. It’s not just you...
IBTZ
pretty good almost ten minutes and no zot
Try decaf.
Exactly!!! Some people take their word as THE WORD. I’m sure there are ‘worse’ tales than this and to be honest....they’re nothing to speak of.
People need to relax....
First, remember that FR is privately-owned. We are allowed to make article and comment contributions - indeed, that’s the success of this site - but, in the end, the owner has the final say.
That said, I am generally in favor of open discussion, provided it’s clean and tasteful ( no promoting crime, etc.) Better to “jaw-jaw” etc.
Of course, due to past incidents, the Mods probably find it simpler just to ban certain sources (Wikipedia, for example).
BTW, you’re not the only one to experience this. :-)
“I tried to expose the censorship on FreeRepublic against conservatives that apparently exists if you do not bow to the current politicians in power and owe your loyalty to the now less than conservative Republican party.”
I can name a dozen Republicans, starting with McCain who would disagree with your above statement - and you might want to see the comments about those people.
You simply have this site confused with another site.
