Add the numbers on the left of each = sign, then divide sum into the number on the right of the = sign. Each answer is the same as the first number on the left side (2,7,6,8). There’s the hint! Therefore, 9 + 7 equals 16 and then x 9 = 144. My I.Q. is in the lower range of 120 so it took me a little longer than 2 min. :)

I figured it out! 2 + 3 will never equal 10. That is like saying Obama + Pelosi equals conservative government.

Therefore, I disregard everything else, and come up with 9 + 7 = 16. :)

Yesterday I couldn’t spell mathematician, and today I are one!

I did it my way to prove that I remembered how to do a superscript. Haven't needed to do that since Rathergate.

I went an entirely different direction

I saw that the sum of the two numbers times the first number equaled th “answer.”

Therefore, 9+7=16x9=144

2+3=5, 5*2=10
7+2=9, 9*7=63
6+5=11, 11*6=66
8+4=12, 12*8=96
9+7=16, 16*9=144

I love giving my 5th grade students problems like these. They love them too. It is amazing how many of them will eventually figure them out. Even in public schools.

a^2 + ab = c works for the given eq’s and gives 144 for the question mark.

LOL.

Took me about ten seconds to see the pattern.

But multiplying 16 by nine in my head (I work with paper damn it) I came up with 146 instead of 144 by the twenty second mark; but I thought that was wrong. So I mentally rechecked my math and came up with the correct answer a few seconds after.

So.... smart enough to see the pattern almost instantly, dumb enough to make a mistake multiplying 16 by 9 in my head, but smart enough to catch it.

By most IQ tests I score embarassingly high, as in, “why haven’t you done more with your life?

2(2+3) = 10
7(7+2) = 63
6(6+5) = 66
8(8+4) = 96

So...for 9+7
9(9+7) = 144
