MISSOULA — A Missoula man is dead after police attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a home where a kitten was found severely abused earlier this week.
Officers arrived to serve an arrest warrant at 2419 38th St., shortly after 1 p.m. today, but the man inside would not come to the door.
The warrant was for aggravated animal cruelty charges related to the case of the abused 4-month-old kitten found at the home Sunday night after neighbors reported screams coming from the residence.
A Missoula police officer talked to the man inside the home on the telephone before approaching the house this afternoon, but the man would not come to the door.

Cruelty to animals is the sign of a sick, sick mind.
Taking his own life likely saved lives in the future- both animal and human.
“These little animals are trusting, helpless and friendly. To then abuse them as described in the articles on this case....I cant describe it as anything but true evil. Mental illness, hard luck, bad childhood...blah blah blah. This comes from the darkest, most vile place and there is no excuse for it.”
Yup. At least the reprobate had the good sense to off himself and thus save the taxpayers the burden of having to care him for the rest of his life.
“Im sorry, but humans, especially ones not found criminally liable for anything, are worth more to God than any animal.”
That’s a pretty broad assumption.
A sad situation all around. Prayers for God’s mercy on everyone involved, and may He especially have mercy for those here who would wish eternal damnation on anyone.
One Rehabilitated. Sadly, it’s only a small start.
Yep, the world is just full of lollipops and rainbows isn’t it? In case you haven’t noticed there is pure evil in this world. The hearts of most men may have evil tendencies, but for many they are just pure evil.
Abuse of dead cats probably has something to do with the Zombie Plague.
This story get weirder and weirder.
Part of the cats head was shaved (what the heck?), and he tried to drown her in the toilet. Then he loses his temper with the cat, and basically stomps her to death.
My gut tells me was shaving the cat for some creepy reason, and the cat didn’t like it, so at first he tried to drown it? silence it? in the toilet? and when the cat must have made its displeasure known, he lost his temper with it.
I have no idea what happened here, and I’m not sure I want to.
Explain this please.
Amen! You are so right!
We haven't even talked about the title of this thread yet.
No great loss. People with this kind of evil nature sometimes move on to incredible cruelties practiced on people. The world is ever so slightly cleaner now.
Life is like this sometimes. Did you now that Walmart has a tolerable wine (red, white, and pink!) for $2.50 a bottle?
Holy headache, Batman!
Not if you get pretzels, too. $2.12 for the 16 oz. bag of Snyder’s!
To wish that anyone spend all eternity in Hell is a pure evil all it's own, quite likely a far worse evil than even abusing kittens. Thankfully we all have the ability to accept God's redemptive mercy up until the instant of death, just like the man in the article had the ability to do so. We can't know whether he did or didn't before he died. That said, someone who would wish Hell on another person on a public forum probably hasn't accepted God's mercy himself. I humbly suggest that you start by praying the Lord's Prayer slowly and thoughtfully. I'll be praying for you.
There’s the old saying, “God have mercy on him, because I won’t.” In the end it’s up to God anyway despite of what we want.
