Goodbye folks

Posted on 01/28/2010 4:46:33 AM PST by Scythian

I posted this under general/chat category "wierd stuff" where it belongs ...

I've been on here since 1998, in these past 12 years I've changed alot. I became deathly ill only to make myself better through natural means. I even had 3 children since 1998 as well.

When I first joined I had just had my eyes opened to Christianity and to the real Christ, having previously voted for Clinton in 92 I realized I was very wrong in my thoughts and started voting Republican. But now, 12 years later I have learned even more, enough to know to stop investing time in this arena.

We have our pinewood derby car race this weekend for scouting, our cars are fast, should be a good race. To be honest, I really don't care about politics anymore. Jesus didn't waste his time on it and niether will I. Not saying I wont vote, I will.

Anyway, the FR has been great fun, and daily I actually laughed out loud reading the quips from posters, very witty stuff. I just wanted to say thank you to the FR for 12 years.

This part of my life is being closed down so that I can spend this time on other things.

- Scythian out

PS: That means you can rip me to shreds now in proper FR style, LOL, you guys are awesome and Good Luck ...

Conservatism is social, cultural, and philisophical as well as political. It sounds you are saying your long term participation with FR has been part of a good change in total approach to you life and I think that is a fine compliment to those of us that participated with you.

Your participation will be missed but if FR had come in time-conflict with the 13 years I particpated with my sons in Scouting, I can only hope that I would have been smart enough to lay it aside as you are doing for that and other important life matters.

Great sharing the internet with you — good luck and love to your family.

Isn’t this the parasitophobic guy who believed that all dogs give their owners worms, or some such nonsense?

And I suppose you've voted for Jesus in every election since then?

I salute you, sir. Well and nobly said.

As I have remarked on occasion: "Politics never saved anyone's soul."

That said, it is necessary that Christians remain engaged in politics. When we do so, we must not allow the political world to change us.

We must change the political world so that we can make certain that our fellow Christians retain the freedom to live and preach the Gospel. That is (or should be) the ultimate goal of politics for a Christian.

You will be missed - take care.

And just ignore the few boneheads on here who feel the need to make nasty remarks. They're the flies in the ointment of FR...and they're just unhappy people.

God bless.

If we never meet again this side of heaven
As we struggle through this world and its strife
There’s another meeting place somewhere in heaven
By the side of river of life

Where the roses bloom forever
And where separation comes no more
If we never meet again this side of heaven
I will meet you on that beautiful shore

- Yours in Christ, OB1

56 yrs. old and still making exercise a priority.
That and having Chemo & Radiation treatment a few years ago, remind me that I’m not bullet-proof....

You joined the same year I did, and I've read your posts often. I attended the MFJ, Rally on the Steps, House Managers' Dinner, and many local protests as well.

I, too, love FR and our country, and have flirted with dropping out.

However, I found Ecclesiastes 10:20 right around the time Obama was elected. It says:

Do not curse the king even in your thoughts,
and do not curse a rich person even in your bedroom,
for a bird of the sky may carry the message,
and a winged creature may report the matter.

It has helped me tremendously. I don't yell at the TV any more. I don't obsess over what's going on.

I stay informed, still visit FR, but my life is much more in balance.

Self-conscious anticipatory opus, how do you respond to that?
