Yeah, we got a warning. “I’m going to move your team at the end of the season, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Some favor. Nothing like ripping off a bandaid one hair at a time.

And yeah, we got a team back - after we had to pay through the nose for 48,000 seat licenses before they would even make the expansion official. And unlike you guys, who nabbed a going concern from another city that won a championship 5 years after moving, we had to pay up front for an expansion franchise that has rewarded us with a decade of ineptitude.

As for your “bottom line”, you’re saying it’s important that Irsay did what no other owner has ever done in major-league sports, but that you don’t care that he did it because he was faced with a situation that no other owner in major-league sports has ever faced. I guess that’s your prerogative, but it also suggests that you’re more interested in pimping Baltimore martyrdom than looking at this objectively.

If you’re happy Baltimore has a team again, fine, you should be. But don’t sit there and pretend that way you got it is any more laudible the way you lost your old one.

Well said, and un-arguable really.

Cause I’ve said the same thing over and over again!!!

And how about Modell being ticked off he wasn’t getting money for football while the baseball stadium and Rock&Roll HOF did?

Frankly, the Browns were largely inept since the ‘60s. So I don’t know how to blame that on the new franchise. The Ravens got pretty lucky winning that SB.

I do look at it pretty objectively (just like Browns fans, huh?). I just think many people here hold hatreds for Baltimore just for alleged hypocrisy when the bottom line is the whole situation was alot different - both before, during, and after the fact. We had Redskins to deal with, just like back in the ‘50s when Marshall didn’t want Baltimore to get an NFL team that would be the Colts.

It could’ve been another city just as well as Baltimore (which BTW was passed over twice for 2 southern teams before this whole nonsense happened). We could just as well hate Phoenix for angling to get Irsay to move there.

To refresh your history...Baltimore outbid both Jacksonville and Carolina in the expansion process, to be axed by Taglia*uck.

So, we took a team the old way...then the nfl boo hoo’d for Cleveland for years...Baltimore never got any sympathy so ...oh well.
