The hit Warner took from #83 of the Saints defense near the end of the 2nd quarter was shameful, in my opinion. Looked to me like the defender was trying to knock Warner out of the game.
He may have succeeded, too. That was a brutal hit.
#83?
Saints start at the 40, another Rackers screw-up.
Yep, football is like growing old; it ain’t for sissies. ;)
Why? Is he a pansy? Different set of standards for him than the other players? He was attempting to make a tackle and the Saints player prevented him from doing so...AS HE SHOULD. Once the ball is turned over the QB no longer has the protection afforded his position when on offense. There was no cheap shot, just a sound block. If the QB is going to participate in attempting to make a tackle he has no protection not afforded another player.
I don't know how old you are, but in the days of the old NFL that would just have been considered a great hit. I'm not dissing you or anything, but it is a significant change in fan attitudes from years past. Probably 75% of the highlight reel tackles from the 70s would be penalties today.
>>Looked to me like the defender was trying to knock Warner out of the game.<<
That was a 100% legit hit. Any defender who doesn’t try to know the opposing QB into next week on an interception isn’t doing his job.
This isn’t ice dancing.
(ps: I am rooting for AZ and am a big Warner fan).
