That’s one of the reasons I compare Manning more to Elway than to Montana, to whom I compare Brady. All four were/are great quarterbacks. Montana and Brady won more championships, but also had the benefit of having better teams around them than Manning and Elway. Manning and Elway won fewer championships, but did things that no one else could.

Chargers have written the book about how to defend against Manning. Same with Belichick.

Chargers disguise coverages. Belichick gets in his face with pressure. Manning has to feel that he has to score in order to keep up with a solid offense. That’s when he starts forcing throws and the picks come.

I don’t see how the best team in football loses to Tampa Bay. Like every other team in the playoffs, they are not perfect. And a good coaching staff will find their weakness and exploit it.
