His song choice is "Miss You." It's okay. Kind of messy in spots.
Randy: I wasn't so crazy when the arrangement started, but you slayed it, dog! Way to start the show.
Ellen: What's not to love about that? Amazing. Good, good, good.
Kara: First night, big stage. (compares Mike to Mick Jagger--pfft.)
Simon: You definitely got your confidence up. Dancing was kind of corny. You sang it well. But I think when you watch it back, it was verging at times as a tiny bit desperate.
Seacrest asks Simon to elaborate on "desperate".
Simon: Do I talk to him or do I talk to you?
Seacrest walks down to the judges table and gets uncomfortably close to Cowell.
Seacrest: I'm trying to help the guy out because I want him to stay on the show.

Simon pushes back away from the table, waiting for Seacrest to get back on the stage, which he eventually does.
Simon: If you want we can work it out in the trailer later. (ooohs and aaahhhhs from the audience)
