NEW YORK, USA -- The American Dairy Association & Dairy Council unveiled a giant cup of hot chocolate in Bryant Park; it weighs more than 4,180 pounds before the addition of marshmallows-setting the world record for the Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate.
The seven-foot wide mug held 487 gallons -- that's almost eight thousand cups of of piping hot cocoa -- not to mention tons of marshmallows.
Officials said they expected to distribute 6,000 to 10,000 free cups of cocoa.

The previous Guinness world record for the largest cup of hot chocolate was set by the Serendipity Three Restaurant with a four gallons hot chocolate.
The American Dairy Association & Dairy Council said the Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate event was organized to remind people of the importance of drinking milk for Vitamin D during the winter months.
