Psychic predictions for 2010: Obama assassination and giant bats

Those who claim to see beyond the veil of space and time are predicting more bad news for 2010.
A Toronto psychic known as Nikki has already made headlines and raised eyebrows with her prediction of the possible assassination - or attempted assassination - of President Obama in 2010. Nikki claims to have successfully predicted the death of Michael Jackson and the September 11 attacks. Other predictions from Nikki for 2010: Sarah Palin will pose nude and giant bats will attack a South American city.
Psychic heavyweight Sylvia Browne also predicts a presidential assassination involving a complicated scenario designed to "damage the American peoples faith in their government" as if such a thing was possible. She hedges her bets by noting that it may not happen this year. Sometime between now and 2020, she says. This prediction should be safely forgotten by the end of the decade.
The channeler, spiritual teacher and spiritual healer Oneesha of Las Cruces, NM, sees war between Israel and Iran and an attack from within on the United States. St. Paul's Fatima takes a safe bet and predicts "more wars." She's probably right on that one.
Even Indian fortune tellers are predicting a rough row to hoe in the upcoming year though there may be some improvement in the second six months.
Not all the psychics are doom and gloom. Barbara Soblewski Garcia sees a period of strong economic growth in real estate and the stock market, which will be nice.
If we can avoid the giant bats.

I really hope we dont see an assassination, because that is the absolutely LAST thing we need. You and me both, Fellow FReeper. I want Obama to end up like Jimmy Carter: elderly, ridiculed and and obscure. However, I don't have much hope that that's how it will be -- I think Obama's handlers and manipulators, the ones who got him in the White House, put a high value on Obama as a martyr and his untimely dispatch as a "crisis" that should not "go to waste." His manipulators will put that card in play by their own actions, not those of we America-loving patriots.

Hell! anybody could have predicted that Micheal Jackson was going to die and it wouldn’t have taken a psychic to do it.All he needed to do was look at the self-destructive path he was on.

Sylvia Browne embarrassed herself badly on Coast to Coast AM one night by claiming to have known that men trapped in a mine collapse would be found alive. Unfortunately for Sylvia and the miners, the news report was incorrect and the miners were almost all dead.
Here's an account and audio clip of the episode.
Here is an unflattering account by a skeptical reporter who went on one of Sylvia Browne's cruises for the credulous.
The bottom line: if Sylvia Browne has any psychic talent at all, its is hopelessly obscured by self-promotion, humbuggery, and outright fraud.

"I see... before you a time of love and laughter, and ofcourse some tears & sadness, too. There will be a tall dark handsome women or perhaps a short pale blond, but MAYBE ... both! You will encounter exceptional opportunites this year, but you must be prepared. There will be a death that touches you deeply, but not in your immediate family, but someone whom you admire from the newspapers or the movies. Weather will be troublesome and annoy you greatly on one of the weekends during the summer months. After you overcome a few obstacles, great success will be yours.

I'm unsure how they can keep up this prattle, and all with a straight face -- me, I'd be laughing if I sounded like some mechanized fortune cookie, I wouldn't be able to stop from giggling at how trite & silly I sounded.
It's my impression that skeptics who have kept track records of S.Browne have found her extremely inaccurate.

When I worked intel death threats against the President was a common occurrence. Despite the recent bad rap the Secret Service folks are first rate.
