Gorgeous ,jaycee!
Brrrrrr That’s mighty cold temps you’re having. I had to break the ice and fill the bird bath..but it’s already 29 and sunny. Colder weather coming..in the teens.
Come on spring!

"I've never been in temps below 30 in my lifetime!"

I lived in Winter Park, CO for five years, Polly.
It would drop to MINUS 50 every winter, and stay that cold for weeks!

Meg, I can’t be running in and out in this cold weather so bless their hearts, they will have to wait for me and warmer weather.

Need to go to store but hope it warms up enough later so I can stand it.

I went to the corner market last night for milk and Chocolate to see me through for the week.
My freezer is loaded...and I have sacks of bird and cat food in car trunk..I am pulling into my cocoon.
..So far I am not moved to do housework this morning..LOL.

If it is icy I have a clay saucer right at my sliding door..all I have to do is fill it..They can see it if they are really thirsty!
If it is frozen..(I will try to remember to empty it at nightfall)I can grab it and thaw it in the sink..

I won’t go out when it is slippery...I just throw seed out on the patio from the door if I can’t reach the feeder.

Luckily it’s a rare day when it doesn’t rise above freezing here by noon.

A Long Way Home

For so long I have felt that
I have always been homeless.

As a child, there were tough times,
Afraid to go back to the house, because
You were afraid of what you would find.

(This…is not what I am here to say.)

As a young teen, a step mother came
A mother no better than the first,
So Her house never felt like home.

(…not what I am here to say.)

Since the last few years as a teen, until now
I have made many a nest, but somehow
A place where you’re existing alone,
This is just a camp, without a fire.

(…not what I am here to say.)

I have been to many a house, where
My friends tried to make me at home.
Somehow I always shut the door,
This was their home,
I was an uncomfortable guest.

(This Is what I am Here to Say)

Like a sound from light, I realize,
It is that child
Who is still running,
Running away from Home.

Good morning, Yorkie.
I agree with you on today's Opener.
That is such a sad poem but the graphic is adorable.

I hate to say it is cold in Central California, but for us ..... Brrrrr

Our days are so wet; the dampness seems to penetrate everything.

Hope you are staying warm.
I can't imagine the cold they are experiencing in the East.
Hope we get some globull warming soon.

Have a Warm Happy Monday.
