24 Season 8: Live Thread
http://www.fox.com/24/ ^ | 12/27/09 | GRRRRR

Posted on 12/27/2009 11:34:42 AM PST by GRRRRR

Season 8 Premiers on SUNDAY NIGHT, January 17 with a TWO hour opening episode at 9 Eastern.

On Monday night we are treated to ANOTHER two hour episode again starting at 9 Eastern.

Hard to tell which way this episode will swing...back to the tough as nails UN-PC style or will we get more handwringing and Islamo-Gaia Love like last year?

Here's a little feature from the 24 website

http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=twentyfour&ep=1256696811731

This season starts off in NYC with Jack trying to establish a 'normal' life with his daughter. But...some stuff goes down at the UN and "that's when the day starts to go wrong" as Jack puts it...

The best line of Gone with the Wind...”I don’t know nothing about birthing no babies.”

LOL! All this time I thought that was a line from a Bugs Bunny cartoon :o

Thank you! They’ll avoid Obama’s State of Confusion Address on the 27th too.

LOL! Me too. If I could sit through that snooze-fest, I should be able to get through Gone With The Wind at least once :)

Try sometime! There is a war, fire, gigantic sets, a robot from the future looking for John Conner, John McClane gets trapped in a building with Professor Snape, and Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen save everyone from the Russians.

Okay, I may have made a few of those up, but there is a war and fire.

Yup...more realistic would have been to showcase the Albanian nasties.

Wrong “time of the month” for her to go under cover.

Can anybody explain how Jack Bauer is supposed to go undercover? Isn’t he famous? Wasn’t he on nationally broadcast live television in the Senate hearings? Wasn’t he suspected of wanting to kill one of the presidents and it was all over the news? Then it was all over the news again when he saved the president? Shouldn’t he be the most famous guy in the world? Now, he’s going undercover?

Ok, so I had to wait until tonight to see the premier. I came on the thread to read the great comments and I find out that jonny hasn’t seen GWTW or read Harry Potter.

*sigh*

Oh well, Freckles is back trying to out “Jack Bauer” the guy who shot her in the neck and buried her alive on their first date. Impressive, but she needs to maintain the brutality to win the kill count crown from Jack.

Why is the weasely moron who is messing around with the Dana chick still breathing? Just let “the Manny” know what’s going on and Mr. Wade will be in the East River.

The cop who was beating Jack? Is he the first guy to wail on Jack and make it out of the 24 universe alive? Maybe him and Mandy could have a spin-off, “I Survived 24”.

Pretty sad about Jon... nice guy tho.

First time on the thread... just finished the first 4 hours. Lots happened. the Renee surgery was a shocker. Is she unstable now as Jack suspects, just very hardened, or what.

Going to have to go back a bit to find out the CTU sloucher because I didn’t notice a slouch.

Maybe I’ll get in a little sooner next week.

I cannot take benadryl. But I’ve taken two in the last two days. It dries me up (that’s the upside), but then it zonks me out. I think it’s finally out of my system. I’ll have to feel really bad to take another one.

The head of CTU looks exactly like Larry Elder, if Larry had a stoop.

What's interesting about the stoop is that he doesn't have it at the beginning. Then as each hour ticks by it get noticeably worse.

Maybe he just tires easily.
