Good Riddance!
My grace is sufficient for you. —2 Corinthians 12:9

A shredder ate hundreds of pieces of paper and other items in New York City on December 28 last year. Organizers of the second annual “Good Riddance Day” encouraged people to bring to Times Square their bad memories and suffering of 2008 and feed them into the industrial-strength shredder or toss them into an extra-large dumpster.

Some participants shredded pieces of paper with the words “the stock market” or “cancer.” Others destroyed bank statements, and one person shredded a printed e-mail from a boyfriend who broke up with her.

We long to “shred” memories of bad things that others have done to us or difficult circumstances we’re going through. The apostle Paul wanted relief from his present suffering, an infirmity that made him feel weak (2 Cor. 12:7-10). But God said to him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” God didn’t take away the problem. Instead, He gave Paul the grace to live with it.

Difficulties burden us as we mull them over in our minds, affecting our relationships and our outlook on life. We as believers in Christ have a place to take these burdens. First Peter 5:7 tells us, “[Cast] all your care upon [the Lord], for He cares for you.”

Whenever life’s burdens oppress you
And trials seem too much to face,
Remember God’s strength in your weakness;
He’ll give you His power and grace. —Sper

God gives enough grace for whatever we face.

Your prayers mean a lot.

My smile has routinely been more closed mouth anyway and I probably havne’t made much of it over the years.

Being able to chew again would be welcome!

Thanks tons.

Quix, bless your heart! You have been such a prayer warrior for so many of us. I will be praying for you, before, during and after your proceedure.

I had my teeth done (porcelain) on the 18th, and for the first time in years, I can smile without embarassement.

I have many friends who have had their teeth all pulled and are very pleased with the results. Your body will thank you for it, (including your heart and immune system.)

Blessings, my friend. May you heal quickly and totally!

To: MEG33; All
Sweet Peas for you, Meg, and everyone who visits, today

In grasses, trees, and fruits,
apart from their various uses,
there is beauty of appearance and pleasantness of odor....
Has the Lord clothed the flowers
with the great beauty that greets our eyes,
the sweetness of smell that is wafted upon our nostrils,
and yet will it be unlawful for our eyes
to be affected by that beauty,
or our sense of smell by the sweetness of that odor?...
Did he not, in short, render many things attractive to us,
apart from their necessary use?

~John Calvin~

The little kitty ate a few times yesterday. I don’t think it’s very hungry since it didn’t eat everything at once. That’s good, probably means it’s a wandering cat from the neighbors and is not abandoned. I left more goodies out on the porch this morning.

The wild birds here are going nuts for the seed I’m putting out every morning. They’re going through a gallon of seed a day.

Have a great day!

Good Sunday Morning, CP.

Then again ..you may have gained a good mouser.
I was gone for 3 weeks and it took over twenty four hours to get
my birds back to the feeder.
Wishing you a wonderful Lord's Day

Hi Quix, been noticing the dental related posts and want to add my wishes that all goes well with your dental surgery.

I had my own bout with dental stuff this fall. I had to get 4 new crowns between September and November. It was rather unexpected. At first I only needed one, and then we found other molars that were in bad shape. Pretty soon, we were up to 4 crowns. (and I don’t feel royal at all!)

I went through the times when the temporary crowns were on and you have to be careful how you chew. I had a few months there were I had to munch like a bunny, on my front teeth.

Especially amusing when I’d get a taste for potato chips and it was too risky to use the molars, and I crunched them with the front teeth only.

It did slow down how many I wanted to eat. Now that everything is done, I can dare to eat potato chips and chew without fear!

Best of luck! TheConservativeParty

The little kitty left me dead mousies a few days ago outside my garage. I will welcome a visiting mouser, or if this kitty wants to stay. I have to trap mice all year ‘round in my garage and barns. I hope to be friends with this kitty as time goes by. So far I’ve only seen it once, when the dog met it in back of the house. I see the tracks in the snow though.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!

Amazing Grace

by John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, .
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
