Hi! Just a few hours after I finished dealing with last week’s heavy snowfall, it snowed again this afternoon. LOL. This time it was just a dusting and really pretty to watch fall. Last week it was 17 inches worth and was a very wet snow.
Cheers!

Thank you, TCP! I am trying to “keep on keeping on” and its hard here at Christmas. So much to do and am not accomplishing what I should. On can only do what they can though and I’m trying to adapt to that.

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
The Soldiers Code
1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.
3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.
5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.
6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

Catching up here and enjoying that beautiful snow fall. Yes, I am glad I don’t have to “ dig out” of the snow either.
Happy Tuesday!

Gods Remarkable Word
Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89
The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 has been called the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century. The ancient manuscripts hidden in the caves near Qumran are the oldest known copies of key Old Testament books. In 2007, the San Diego Natural History Museum hosted an exhibition featuring 24 of these scrolls. One often-repeated theme in the exhibit was that during the past 2,000 years the text of the Hebrew Bible (the Christian Old Testament) has remained virtually unchanged.
Followers of Christ who believe that the Bible is the eternal, unchanging Word of God find more than coincidence in this remarkable preservation. The psalmist wrote: Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations (119:89-90). Jesus said: My words will by no means pass away (Matt. 24:35).
The Bible is more than a historical relic. It is the living, powerful Word of God (Heb. 4:12), in which we encounter the Lord and discover how to live for Him and honor Him. I will never forget Your precepts, the psalmist concluded, for by them You have given me life (119:93).
What a privilege we have each day to seek God in His remarkable Word!
I have a companion, a wonderful guide,
A solace and comfort whatever betide;
A friend never-failing when others pass by,
Oh, blessed communion, my Bible and I. Knobloch
To know Christ, the Living Word, is to love the Bible, the written Word.

Hi Polly, I feel about the same today as yesterday but I am going to try a little more. Glad I’m not the only one who is feeling overcome with all this we do! Women are all the same, working until we fall over! See you later, dear friend, I am going upstairs to get a few things for my downstairs mantle!

Good morrow to one and all.
Contrary to the legend which said that the king made his charitable rounds barefooted, we have learned that it was the poor page that walked through the snow with unshod feet. Consequently the title of this song should be The Good Kings Wincing Slob.
Loreena - Good King Wenceslas
Good King Wenceslas looked out, on the Feast of Stephen, When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even; Brightly shone the moon that night, tho' the frost was cruel, When a poor man came in sight, gath'ring winter fuel. "Hither, page, and stand by me, if thou know'st it, telling, Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?" "Sire, he lives a good league hence, underneath the mountain; Right against the forest fence, by Saint Agnes' fountain." "Bring me flesh, and bring me wine, bring me pine logs hither: Thou and I will see him dine, when we bear them thither." Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together; Through the rude wind's wild lament and the bitter weather. "Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger; Fails my heart, I know not how; I can go no longer." "Mark my footsteps, my good page. Tread thou in them boldly Thou shalt find the winter's rage, freeze thy blood less coldly." In his master's steps he trod, where the snow lay dinted; Heat was in the very sod, which the saint had printed. Therefore, Christian men be sure, wealth or rank possessing, Ye who now will bless the poor, shall yourselves find blessing. |

Good morning, All. Apologies for being away so much. I don't pretend to be any busier than anyone else this time of the year. (Of course I really am) :)
My computer has had a mind of its own for almost a week and "it" made up its mind not to let me get online except to check regular email occasionally. After many days of crashes and hangs and uninstalling and reinstalling some programs that seemed to be the culprit, I think I'm back up to my normal slow speed. :)
Thank you for the nice comments I've seen in "My Comments" - have not had a chance to make many new winter or Christmas graphics, so Amy and I have been using some of last year's. I guess it's a little like getting out your Christmas decorations from one year to the next. :)

Mornin’ Billie.
Thanks for “And the Angels Cried”.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller CHRISTmas music playing in the background these days as I go about my daily tasks. Decorations in place and our Christmas tree in the front window offers the neighbors a beautiful site as they pass by. Maybe I should take a picture and post it.
Wishing all a Merry CHRISTmas.
