It seems when man content he is outside his church and avoids the commandment of the Lord!
John 13:
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Satan can appear as an angel of light. If someone depends on some revelation that doesn't line up with Scripture, as much of Smith's teaching don't, then I seriously doubt that the *personages* were from God.
So, what doctrines and creeds of men are taught by someone who goes back to the Bible for their source of truth?
Traditions and creeds of men are religious formalities established in religious denominations. Following Biblical teachings is not traditions or doctrines of men.

JS and Sidney Rigdon developed LDS theology based upon an amalgomation of Universalism and Campbellite doctrine, with some Anti-Calvinsim thrown in for good measure.
Almost all of JS early converts later renounced him as a fallen prophet, or stated he was never a prophet at all.
The entire LDS church is built upon the “traditions” of a few men, not God.
I challenge you to spend one year reading only the Bible, all the way through, not the BOM and look for context. God will open your eyes.
