“Is Mormonism Christian?”
THey share a great many values as Christians and I admire a lot about how they live but no, they are not Christians.
Yes- This is a great scholarly article on the subject. Indeed, one of the best. It’s worth a full read. Neuhaus was a Lutheran convert to Catholicism and was considered the foremost Lutheran scholar of his time prior to his conversion.
Very well put. I used to think they were, but the more I read and find out about what they believe in, the less I do. Try “Inside Mormonism” by Isaiah Bennett.
I agree.
Mormons are generally nice folks, good neighbors and they now hold to a strong family moral code. (I say now because of the history of polygamy, polyandry and child brides)
But Christians hold to a different doctrine of God, (they believe he is a man that became god), a different doctrine of the trinity, a different doctrine of salvation (no hell, and tiers of heaven and a work based salvation)
The gap is a cavern that separates they from those that profess a Christian belief and our Mormon friends
We can love and admire them, but they are not Christian brothers
I can see the marquee now...
