Thanks for posting this.I am an Air Force vet.also went to Iraq with Army National Guard, and currently full-time Army National Guard I really enjoied this.My friends and some relitives just don’t get it, when a ballgame comes on tv and I stand for the National Anthen at home or anywhere else I hear the NA.
OK, I’ll admit it... I cried. Not just because it was beautiful, but because it reminded me of just how much, and how far, our country has gone down the tubes.

Same thing happened to me!!! Why is that? What makes a goosebump?
What occured to me is that whenever I hear the anthem sung like this, I really understand what this country is and what it stands for; and that makes me think about why so many people just don’t care - they don’t understand who we are. And I realize that “we” is a broad term - I wasn’t here in 1776; my grandparents only arrived in 1919; but I still am inclined to say “we” because I have assimilated into the country so much that I regard it as “my” country. Yet, with illegal aliens (oops, meant to say undocumented workers), libs who hate this country, some young people who haven’t a clue about our history, I can understand why they don’t like it here - as far as they are concerned it’s not their country - they never assimilated - remember Michele Obama? “For the first time in my life I’m proud to be an American.” I was proud the first time I went to a major league ball game; the first time I joined Boy Scouts; the first time I fired a .22 rifle; the first time I went fishing; Heck, there is a lot to be proud about. Think I’m going to listen to that again!
Amen, my friend, if I may call you that. Thank you for all you have done for us. I do the same thing, stand in my living room for the National Anthem.. on TV, RADIO, whatever. At Superbowl viewing party, I did so and I can still see the strange looks directed my way (a couple of others stood with me).
