Step One. Colonize the moon per the High Frontier by Dr Gerald O'Neil of Princeton.
Step 2 Build the Space Colonies in Lunar Orbit to build the solar Generating Stations which would beam electricity to eartn. No more burning fuel in the atmosphere. Sen Harrison Schmitt suggests mining HE3 on the moon, fueling fusion generators and beaming electricity to eartn. another Green solution.
Step Three. Move all heavy industry off planet, (von braun suggested this in the mid 50s).
Step Four gather food from the sea per Arthur Clarke and let the land grow green!
Step Five enjoy a man built Eden!

Typical watermelon. A few years back Robinson was happily preaching the evils of capitalism (the system which made him a millionaire), now he’s preaching the evils of carbon.

Actually, this isn't such a bad idea. Writing a successful grant application these days often involves building in a global warming angle.
Suppose we sell the loony lefties on the idea of going to Mars by telling them the reason it is the way it is today is it went through global warming, which caused the seas to dry up and much of it's atmosphere to go away. So, you see, we just gotta go there to study it, to find out how to avoid the same cruel fate. They're dumb enough they just might buy it!
