How come Nully gets a new thread and I don’t?
It’s great to see a lot of familiar faces I haven’t seen in awhile. Hopefully you all won’t wander too far off. :)

Since we seem to be heading in the direction of a banana republic I'm editing/redacting key words from the following article....
.b.m. mocks critics of failed Chicago 2016 Olympic bid
October 20, 2009 by: an "approved" wire service
NEW YORK .r.s.d.n. .a.a.k .b.m. is having some fun at the expense of those who criticized him for trying to help his Chicago hometown land the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
Addressing donors at a Democratic Party fundraiser Tuesday night in New York City, .b.m. said he believes in a strong opposition but doesn't like it when some folks root for him to fail on health care or ... on getting the Olympics.
In a mocking tone .b.m. said: "Who's against the Olympics? What's up with that?"
Some Republicans criticized .b.m. for flying to Denmark earlier this month to boost Chicago's Olympics bid. Critics said he should have stayed home to deal with health care, unemployment and Afghanistan, among other issues.
I suppose it would be expecting too d@^*#d much for him to stop speaking like a street punk from da hood.

Well, speaking as a forever and always Bear Bryant fan, God rest his soul, I don’t exactly agree with the comparisons drawn. :) However, I do agree that Coach JoePa is a phenomenally gifted and winning coach. No trash-talking, flashy arrogance just quiet confidence. More importantly it isn’t the money but the love of the game that drives him and that may be his most admirable quality.

You have only to read your tag line to answer your question. Between taxes and my job and my tendency to become nauseated at the very mention of the name "Obama," I'm thinking of taking up pounding my head against a wall just to take my mind off of it. Otherwise, I'm doing just great.
< /sarcasm > Just went to my sister's wedding a couple of weeks ago. My cats keep me entertained, computer games keep me mentally numb when I'm not at work and I occasionally try to find a little adventure now and then....if I can be extricated from the house, that is.
And what's new with you Darlin'?
To: sweetliberty
So, very glad to see you here. You've been missed by one and all.
Well, mostly I'm doing my best to adhere to my tag line. :) Especially since I hit a major rough spot, healthwise, over the summer. I'm so very grateful for my really excellant doctors. Since then I've been shamelessly indulging myself with lots of lovely travel, spending time with fun people, good friends and family. Enjoying life to the best of my ability and to the extent any enjoyment is possible given the damage being done to our wonderful country.
Sometimes, in the interest of self-preservation, I simply have to stay away from the news. Its too disturbing and unsettling. Sometimes I succeed and at other times.... well, its an ongoing conflict. I gather you've been practicing some of the same survivor tactics.

Well, yes, there is that but then he has been at it a loooooong time. FGS, sharky, the man was already coaching when Moses was a baby. :) Of course, hes the winningest coach ever, it would be a pitiable thing if he were not since he has been coaching college football for 50 years!
