As to the coin toss, I think the NCAA method of overtime is so much more fair, and so much more fun.

The streets in the Quarter were empty during the game and then they just exploded with people.... well behaved, jubilant fans.

I didn’t like that play, either. The “touchdown” they got when he hit the pylon was questionable, too.
They sure played dirty.

Its a rough game, played by big tough guys. Not one peep was heard from anyone on the Vikings staff, sideline or in the booth. They are the Vikings, not a bunch of passive, mealy-mouthed newcomers. If they had seen "dirty" plays they would have found a way to discuss it with the officials or their players would have found a way to counter that conduct on the playing field. Nary a word was said about "dirty" plays during the game or afterwards by anyone in the entire Vikings organization or by any of the dozens of post-game sports analysts.
The Vikings have a great history and I've always been a fan of Brett Farve but they lost this one. They lost fairly and squarely.
This victory has been a long time coming for the Saints and their fans. They worked hard for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl and they earned it last night. They're the NFC Champions. Louisianians are so very proud of our Saints and we are ever so happy about all the good things coming their way. For many fans this championship has been anticipated and dreamed about for 43 years. So, naturally, we are just as thrilled for them as we are for the team. We are having a marvelous time savoring every minute of this amazing victory and looking forward to Miami.

What a Bringdown: Did the MSM Get Too High on Hopeium?

Oh, the mere sight or sound of the junk can cause the most callous and caustic reporter to wither and melt like Nancy Pelosi during a free Botox party.
The first time the media heard Barack Obama use the phrase “Hope”, they were hooked.
It explains what caused NBC’s Chris Matthews to get the “thrill up going up my leg”, as Barack Obama spoke. It explains why ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and his wife cried on Inauguration Day. Maybe it explains what Evan Thomas of Newsweek was thinking when he proclaimed Obama is, “sort of god.” Here’s the full quote so you have the context:

The first step towards rehab is recognition. If you don’t KNOW you have a problem, how can you begin to solve it? This is where Scott Brown comes in. The new Senator from Massachusetts might have caused a few media people to drop the needle, flush the pills, or at least think about it. Paul Krugman, lib writer at the New York Times even said the other day, “I’m pretty close to giving up on Mr. Obama.” Wooooah! Calm down Paul, don’t go cold turkey on us!
Krugman is mad that Obama is not moving fast enough on his liberal agenda, but whatever the reason, we’re trying to save lives here. CBS asked the question on its Evening News Wednesday night, “Does Obama lack a political identity?” What? Could they have not asked that question during the campaign? Guess not, but we are trying to get them off the junk with baby steps. Baby steps.
This rehab for the media, if it ever happens, will be long and hard. Rehab is always hard, and most will never make it through. Keith Olbermann is Keith Olbermann. He mainlines hopeium during commercial breaks. Matthews puts it up his leg. I’m guessing the nightly news anchors each have a hopeium flask at the news desk. Ed Schultz said he was sick to his stomach after Brown’s victory. It’s not pretty watching people start coming down from a two year “high.” But, it’s important to note, the media has become the dealer of this smack and that is not likely to stop any time soon.
There is some good news here, polls show the people are putting down the pipe. Like all dangerous drugs, Hopeium had its hold because of shallow promises of ecstasy, but thanks to a heavy dose of the internet, doctors of talk radio and Tea Parties, the spoons are being kept in the drawers, users are kicking the habit.
A warning here, some dealers may try to push the junk even harder as they get more desperate for a fix, but the market for hopeium is drying up. The dealers will be the last to know.
Love this piece from Big Journalism. A comment posted at the end of the article says the word, "Hopeium" was apparently coined by a John Kass, a writer with the Chicago Tribune.
I'm not much of a an NFL fan any longer but this one was a good game and fun to watch.

Awww, I admit, I was being a bit facetious, Darlin’. The Saints are an awesome team and frankly, I wasn’t really too upset when they won. I hope they stomp those Colts in the Superbowl!
One of the announcers even mentioned how it seemed like they were out to get Favre, so that wasn’t just me and my imagination. Also, when they tried to draw the Vikings off-sides, well, I just had to snicker when that little ploy didn’t work! Heh!
It was a fun game to watch and like I said, I hope they can take the trophy this year. They’ve come a long way!

The Colts have had their day and it’s time for the Saints to shine.
Someday I’ll be rooting for my Broncs in the Superbowl again. I just gotta be a bit patient....

Likewise, trying to draw your opponent offsides isn't wrong or dirty. It is an allowable, legitimate tactic designed to get someone on the opposing team to step over the line. If it works its a five yard penalty or replay of the down, or possibly being awarded the down. It isn't a dirty play by any means. All teams do it, trying it is not against the rules but being lured into it can cost your team.
It was an exciting, nail-biting game but it was not the best game that either team has ever played. In the end the Saints got real lucky and the Vikings did a lot to beat themselves. 12 men in a huddle, fumbles, turnovers and failing to protect your quarterback are costly mistakes.
The Colts will be oh so tough and the Saints will have to play the game of a lifetime if they have a prayer of coming out on top. Whatever happens in Miami we will still love dem Saints and appreciate what they have been able to accomplish.
