SPRINGFIELD, Va. A Virginia man said he is fighting the indecent exposure charge brought against him after he was spotted making coffee naked in his kitchen.
Eric Williamson, 29, of Springfield, said he was home alone Monday when he walked into the kitchen naked to make coffee at about 5:30 a.m., WTTG-TV, Washington, D.C., reported Tuesday.
"Yes, I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me," Williamson said.
Police said an unidentified woman who was walking with a 7-year-old boy spotted Williamson through a window and reported the scene to police. A Fairfax County Police spokesman said Williamson was arrested because investigators believe he wanted to be seen by the public.
However, Williamson, father of a 5-year-old girl, said that was not the case.
"I am a loving dad. Any of my friends and anyone knows that and there is not a chance on this planet I would ever, ever, ever do anything like that to a kid," he said.
Williamson said he is meeting with a lawyer to discuss ways to fight the charge, which could result in one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000.
You're probably right. He'll be acquitted after spending untold sums on legal representation and after having his name dragged through the media and reputation reduced to pervert.
The article is unclear. Somebody who swanks around nude in a lighted room when it’s dark outside might just want to be seen.
OTOH, I’ve been groggy enough at 5:30 I might not be aware.
In my experience kitchens are usually at the back of a house. How was she able to see him (below the waist!) though a kitchen window?
No problem. I’d press charges on the stupid bi**h for being a peeping tom.....and let’s see how long it takes for her to drop this.
Yes, I’m perfectly serious. Guess who’d win.....
They should have arrested the peeping tom for petesake ...
No doubt she had to stand there 10 minutes until the sun came up more so she could be offended.
Normally, I like the punishment (hers that is; isn’t that being a peeping Tom?)to fit the crime but I’ll settle for Helen Thomas nekkid!
I’ll pass on the donuts ping.
I know what you mean! If I’m in my bedroom naked and someone peeps am I going to get in trouble?
“Cop found there was no grounds for arrest ....”
Very, very nice......
Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t make coffee naked.
And no one should fry bacon naked. Take my word for it.
If it’s PLO blend, with a diaper.
No double standard on this!
Know a guy that got arrested for standing in his doorway behind a screen door in his boxers. It was daylight, but I’ve seen less (or more?) on the beach.
That’s some hat there Harry.
Really, this is journalism we must save. /s
Let all the people who have at least once walked around in a lighted room while naked when it's dark outside be charged with indecent exposure. And let the other 5% of society spend the rest of their lives sitting on juries trying to reach verdicts in those cases.
Real exhibitionists are much more flagrant. If they want to be seen, and remain inside the house, they stand at the window, tapping, waving and shaking..
I don’t have enough details; but if you have a 5 yr old daughter in your home; why would you walk around naked.....
Begs the question: What were the woman and her daughter doing staring into homeowners’ windows at 5:30 in the morning?
