I just lost my baby sister in July. She weighed 480 pounds and was a heavy smoker. She left 4 children and a husband behind. It was so sad.

She didn’t get there overnight either.

I can’t even come near what you must feel. God calls us home on his schedule and HIS schedule only...regardless of what or why mortals know it or think of it. Sadly, it leaves us missing those called home. I feel for you, FRiend! Your loss of a sister must be immense.

In your late sister’s case, was she the only member of her immediate family so afflicted? Or was she just an order of magnitude worse off than her parents/siblings?

I am so sorry for your loss, how awful! I am very scared my mother is headed down the same road, she is not a smoker but keeps getting heavier and heavier, now has diabetes, mild kidney disease, high blood pressure and has had knee surgery on both knees. I already lost my dad 4 years ago, I fear she is next. :(

I’ve always wondered something..how does one get to be 480 pounds? At some point doesn’t someone say something? At some point you look in the mirror and you are so disgusted with yourself you do something. What happened to your sister, do you think?

A couple of years ago my 40 year old nephew died, he weighed about the same as your sister.
