What I’ve figured all along .. this will be the first Olympiad in South America.
Rio has serious problems I hope they can get under control, but ultimately the choice was fairly inevitable.

"In my opinion, excellent choice" I agree. I've been there several times, and while there's some abject poverty and crime-ridden areas, it's also a very FUN city. Plus, the weather in August is perfect for the olympics - very temperate and almost zero rain.
