Back from thevet. He has an infection. She couldn’t tell if it’s just the skin area he’s been favoring or something internal. Blood work was inconclusive. He’s lost 5 lbs. since October.
Steroids, antibiotic, pain meds. Back in a week.
I had to lift him in and out of the truck and help him up the front step. I’m hoping he can manage the Nana stairs out back.
We’ve been home about 10 minutes and he hasn’t stopped crying...sigh...hoping the pain meds will kick in.
Aw geeze... sorry Corin... and Sam. Hope he feels better soon. It’s a hard world for gettin’ old.

Did the vet mention whether or not the antibiotics would upset his stomach? When Gypsy was on her antibiotics the vet gave us Famotidine tablets, 20 mg., to counteract the upset stomach she would get. It's really just Pepcid AC, and now I buy a generic at the grocery store. Her digestive system is pretty messed up with her chronic liver disease, and I have the best luck giving her the 10 mg. strength, twice a day. Just for reference, Gypsy weighs 57 pounds.

Thanks. He’s some better this evening. We had to encourage him to go out but he got up on his own and did the Nana stairs out back (gradual steps we had installed for her to use her walker).
Doctor didn’t give any indications that the meds would upset his stomach. So far, so good.
We’re going to take turns staying downstairs. He knows he can’t make it upstairs.
I found a few things that weren't as comfortable as I liked on the Sig, now that the newness had worn off, and I was more aware of stuff, just like tiny squeaks and rattles in a car. For one thing, the stock had a round ridge on the front that bothered my cheek when I had the stock extended to the position I wanted.
So I swapped out for a mid-grade Magpul stock that Sig also uses. The green arrow shows the offending element better.
Fortunately, it was easy to swap stuff out due to my stash of AR15/M4 stocks, handguards, buffer tubes, buffers, springs, etc. These are the big parts, and don't include several pounds of smaller parts.
I also found out that the vertical gangsta' grip was too far forward for comfort. No big deal, I brought it back several notches when I got back home. But then I couldn't reach the flashlight, and it was just mounted on a small piece of rail that was now too far forward for me.
I didn't have the problem with the M4, and couldn't figure out why for a long tine. Then I finally realized the M4 has a short forearm and a lot of barrel sticking out, and the Sig was the exact opposite.
I needed more rail acreage where I wanted it, and none of the classic Sig forearms would fill the bill. So it was off to my discount site to order the Troy Industries rail, just like the shorter one I put on the P556 pistol a few months ago.
What this means is I now have the Samson plastic furniture, and the Midwest Industries front sight, as surplus to my needs. Anybody with a Sig is welcome to them, because otherwise they just go into my parts stash. Putting that quad rail on is pretty much irreversible. In fact, ask about other M4/AR15 furniture. It may be in that box, waiting for a home. Just ask.
Since I've been doing H&K and GSG work recently, I uncovered more stuff, and put it in an even bigger box. This is my H&K parts hoard of the stuff I found so far, excluding a couple bags of small parts, and a couple dozen G3 mags.
In today's world, that box may be the closest thing to a savings plan that The One can't make vanish with the stroke of a pen.
Finally, after our little range session was over, Mike mentioned how he had a difficult time getting a good sight picture with the scope on either rifle. I had no such problem, and never gave it a second thought.
Then he mention how his ear muffs were interfering, and it dawned on me I was wearing my Sensgards, which are far more compact, and I find much more comfortable. I never realized that they would interfere less, too.
I think I'll buy him a set for Christmas as a stocking stuffer. If you want to try something other than earmuffs, give them a try. Amazon carries them, along with other sites that deal with tools, or shooting.

Nice work on the Sig. Those ‘parts’ boxes look more like a treasure trove to me.
Have you or the nephew tried the new fangled ‘electronic’ noise blocker ear muffs? We’ve got the regular blue ones for indoor and I’m getting a pair like you have for outside rifle shooting. The NRA Christmas Catalog arrived at just the right time. Back to the electric ones: the electronic ones work good on the two inside ranges we frequent and you can converse in a normal voice.

I would have a lot of trouble with that myself. Glad that my place, like most Florida homes, is a ranch house. Hope your pooch ecovers.
I'm reassessing the light requirements for my houseplants and moving plants accordingly. Might start some indoor herbs today.
Haven’t seen much of him today; Jackson has paid us a couple of visits, warm up and chow down and then off for further adventures.
Got the electric candles and batteries for the windows. Neighbors have there ‘electric light show’ up and operating.
I put little lights on my ficus. That’s about it...I’m a Scrooge.
I have some electronic muffs, too, and they work well. It's just that they aren't as comfortable as regular muffs. Maybe I should look at some really expensive ones.
Meanwhile, these Sensgards let most of the normal-volume sounds through, and are quite comfortable (once you learn how to screw them into your ears). I was skeptical at first.

The lights don’t blink.
They could, I think you can get a flasher light if you want them to flash, or push/pull the wall plug real fast. :-}
I think I like them not blinking better.
