No, that’s from someone else’s line. I closed the shop. Since my HUGH run with the Sarah Palin stuff that netted over $1,000, I’ve sold about $150 worth of stuff. More than half of that has gone to shop fees.
So, since I’m not adding anything or maintaining the store, I shut it down.
I need to prioritize.
Nicely played.
He do bring out the worst in folks, don’t he? ;o)
He does for sure. :)
That is why I quit watching L&O.
They looked too great to some police and citizens. Some folks could not be convinced that it was just a hunk of inert plastic with a NATO-standard "inert" marking on it, just to play it safe.
They still sell it, but the page has a disclaimer that buyers might get hassled by the ignorant. There should be less of a problem with the 40mm salt and pepper shakers.
I'm tempted to cut out a cardboard silhouette of a couple of AK47s, spray them flat black, and then hang them from a rifle rack in the back of my Envoy. But knowing the Detroit area like I do, I'd probably be killed.
It was bad enough I almost walked into a potential firefight when I went to the range today. More on that later.
We turned off the direct TV sat dish in Nov of 08.
World is a better place without propaganda. We decided to vote with our dollars per se by starving the beast that supports socialism.
Hopefully others follow a like path. The MSM an entertainment industry has decided on an agenda that we consider very dangerous.
Stay safe !!!!
As I pulled in the driveway alongside the building, I noticed a car parked in front of the door, pointing back out to the street. Inside were three yutes who gave me a bad feeling as I drove past them to park in back of the building.
After I parked, I took my shooting bag from the cargo area, and walked alongside the building to get back to the entrance. Just as I was about to turn the corner, I caught a glimpse of the white car again. One of the occupants was gone, and the other had just got out of the back seat. It was then I noticed that the car was parked at a weird angle in front of the door that left plenty of room for both passengers to get in or out quickly.
I also noticed the yute pat down his T-shirt, a sure tip off that he was carrying a weapon. I ducked my head back out of sight, and then carefully peaked again, just sticking enough of my head out to get one eyeball on the guy. Sure enough, some sort of handgun was stuck in his waistband, printing through the shirt.
I knew the store usually had about four or five guys and gals on the sales floor, all openly carrying. They also had a "broom closet" between two wall racks, with at least one shotgun and one AR-15 in it. Then there would be a few more armed employees in the office or stockroom. I didn't even want to guess how many customers were inside.
I wasn't about to approach the driver/lookout, but I couldn't just walk away, either. So I knelt down, got out the FN, and loaded it with the one loaded magazine I brought with me. I put it back in the bag, turned on the green laser, and slung the bag over my head like a purse. Then, still kneeling, I peeked around the corner again, my hand still inside the range bag, still grasping the FN. I saw the two yutes backing out the door with their hands visible in sort of a "so what?" position. They backed up to the car, got in, and the three quickly drove away.
Once I started breathing again, I cleared my weapon, and zipped up the bag. Once inside, the owner explained that everyone came to the unspoken agreement that the two "customers" back out of the store with their hands visible, rather than trying a robbery where they were outgunned four to one.
Crooks carry guns, they just don't know how to carry them concealed properly. These three yutes might just have well worn signs that said, "armed, dangerous, and stupid". What lesson they took away with them, I hope I never know.
One positive result (aside from everyone surviving), was that not only did the 30-round magazine work perfectly, the FN still fits in my computerized strongbox. Now if things go bump in the night, I have 30 rounds ready to rock and roll.
And I'm up this late because the last of the adrenaline is only starting to wear off now.
Adrenaline dumps have always made me kind of ill. Glad you didn’t have to act on this. Hopefully you thought to get the plate number albeit probably stolen.
My oh dark thirty “house” handgun is a glock 34 with a 32 round mag from the glock 18. Surefire 300 rail light an a ops inc suppressor. Loaded with 147gr OSM.
That is carried around the house an rests on my desk end tables nightstand etc.
My chl favorite has been a Glock 31 w/ 3 spare plus two hicap mags for a few years now. Went with that choice for the very reason you encountered today. Multiple threats are real in this era of disrespect.
Stay safe !!
Work at the park 9-5.
Then dinner at an “elfish” restaurant. I have to practice my snooty...
The youts were lucky to get out alive, or at least with all body parts intact.
We're gonna mix up our first batch in it today, about 8 cu.ft. to create one of the slabs under the lower deck. It's a thin slab, with metal threads in it for strength, rather than re-bar.
Wow. Thanks for the write-up. Good reminder about situational awareness!
Our shooting range had a pair of cops get killed out there six months ago. Freak incident and not likely to happen again but...
Today is a beautiful day here, too! The downtown is having it’s Oktoberfest, so we were entertained with bad rock-and-roll music last night ‘til we shut the windows. I bought some kettlecorn at the grocery store yesterday, so we can sit on the porch swing and people-watch w/o having to go to the ~festival~.
Miss Gypsy was able to complete a longer, short walk than she has for a long time. Then she came home, ate a bit, and is now crashed. All hail the power of vienna sausages and braunsweiger!
LSA
Good luck...
We went out for really good sushi last night but you don’t have to be snooty about sushi.
Recognition and acquisition-glad to hear it turned out favorably for the good guys.
The ‘yutes’ apparently could count and their perception almost became their reality. It’s a good thing they remembered it almost time for them to pick up their grandmothers for church and then head to choral group practice.
Heh, well, 2012 will be here eventually though not as quickly as we all would like. You did good though, maybe in a couple of years you’ll reopen the store.
Woah. Great awareness there... glad it worked out in the less-is-more version of the story. :-)
It’s a little wet, though. I was going to get some pansies to plant...it’ll have to wait for another day.
Guess I’ll just have to clean collards, sort okra, and make pickles or something.
