I wonder what's going to happen next. It looks like Dave, Monica, and Brett are now on the outs, but you never know. Russell might actually keep his promise to John about getting rid of a Foa Foa next - not out of any loyalty or gratitude to John, but because Russell sees a good opportunity to get rid of a rival such as Mick or Jaison, which he's going to have to do eventually. Or the five remaining original Galus could get together again and stop Foa Foa's comeback at the last moment. It was Laura that Shambo hated, but she's gone. If two of the Galus - say John & Brett - approach Shambo, convince her that sticking with Foa Foa will get her dumped at fifth place, and make a final three deal with her, it could work.

They do help each other, and I think Natalie recognizes that, but from everything we’ve heard Russell has no respect for Natalie and sees her as a pawn, even though she was the one who was able to make friends with Galu and get them to turn on Erik. He’s called her a dumb blonde and said he thinks of her as a goat that he can take to the finals. If they do make it to the finals together I hope Natalie tells the jury about all the things she did and yanks the rug out from under Russell.

People who try to make Survivor into something personal or something political usually end up failing miserably. Ami from Survivor: Vanuatu wanted to make a feminist political statment by taking an all-female alliance to the end. She discarded good gameplay in favor of politics and it ended up costing her. Russell’s insistence on voting out every strong woman he encountered, rather than trying to work with her, could end up costing him in a similar manner.

Ashley, Mike, Ben, and Jaison should have been the first four Foa Foas voted out. Ashley and Mike were probably the weakest players physically, Ben was a troublemaker who weakened the tribe from within, and Jaison has shown no passion for anything except defending his race. Yet Mike wasn’t voted out, he was only removed due to injury, and Ashley, Ben, and Jaison all lasted longer than Marisa or Betsy. The result, of course, was Foa Foa going into the merge down 8-4.

Russell is kicking their butts. He probably won’t win, but he’s a better player than the rest.

If its close I’d say....

I give the edge in strength challenges to the Villains and the edge in challenges requiring cleverness to the Heros.

Villians are the Cutlass while the Heros are the Rapier.

Yuck. Sandra can stay where she is. I know she had quite a few fans here. I was not one of them.

I guessed who went where before I saw the list. I had them right except for mixing up Danielle and Candice. I’m surprised Candice is a hero - a lot of people consider her a villain for mutinying. It turned out to be a bad move for her, but of course hindsight is always 20/20.

As for Danielle, she could go either way because she was such a weak character in terms of personality and entertainment.

Caught the last 20 minutes of the Amazing Race.

Both little challenges were not as easy as they looked from the ground. And the couple in blue? Seem to have very different personalities.

OK - Back to Survivor.

Preview seems to target Russell. Anybody think Shambo might try a little game play herself and Target Russell? I don’t think Shambo is that smart. I think Jaison asks her a question about who on Galu to Target and she fingers Dave.

Brett or Dave 1 1/2 weeks from now?
